Not seen since pulling up in the Scottish National in April and had a poor time of things last season. Dropped back to something close to his last winning mark though as a result, so not without hope if recapturing a little of his old form.
Won this race 12 months ago over C&D of 1lb higher mark amd ran well most starts last term until form tailed off in the spring. Back from break and has strong claims if back on song at a track that suits him well.
Two from three over C&D but hans't been seen in competitive action since last October when a close second at Exeter. May have had issues so fitness must be taken on trust. Market should reflect confidence levels of connections.
Inconsistent over last two season but wold not be out of the reckoning if putting in one of his better efforts. Cheekpieces retained after he shaped satisfactorily in them last time at Fontwell, but this is a better race.
On a bit of a losing streak and luck was out again last time when hampered and unseated rider while still in contention over C&D. Yard going through a purple patch and is competitively handicapped.
Raised just 3lb for his win over C&D last month and a similar effort should place him in with a shout. This is tougher but appears in good heart at present.
Stayed on late over inadequate trip here last time in first-time tongue-tie. Has claims on form of a couple of seasons ago but continues to plummet in the weights due to his lack of success. Needs to do better.
Beaten favourite on each of his last three starts and has become expensive to follow. Yard continuing in good form, but hopes really lie in the application of cheekpieces producing marked improvement.
Landed novice handicap chase at Uttoxeter last month but subsequently ran below par over three miles. Has very little weight but needs to improve to trouble the expected market prinicpals.
Forecasts
Honkytonktennessee (7/2), Play The Ace (7/2), Cernunnos (5/1), Set List (6/1), Scenic Star (7/1), Dragon's Den (12/1), Danandy (12/1), Father Edward (16/1), Vikekhal (20/1)
SET LIST has decent prospoects of following up last year's success in this race. Emma Lavelle's charge has been given a break so should be fresh and well for the task ahead running off a 1lb lower mark than 12 months ago. Play The Ace did it nicely over C&D last time, and while this is a tougher task he should still be thereabouts, and if Danandy is fit after his 21 month lay-off he would make them all go . It's a big 'if' though. Cernunnos represents a yard in fine form and can't be ruled out, while Irish raider Honky Tonk Star is another who may well get involved.
