One paced nine-race maiden under rules, but has run creditably on his last two starts over fences. Top weight, but fairly handicapped and should be there or thereabouts.
Veteran chaser who is a Fakenham specialist. Not so good away from Norfolk and looks to be handicapped to the hilt so others are preferred on this occasion.
Shrewd Irish stable very rare visitors to this track where they have won win one of their two previous runners. This gelding looks nothing to write home about but any market support would be a tip in itself.
Tumbling down the handicap after a series of poor efforts including when pulled up last time out after refusing to run on. Well weighted on best of old form but jury is out as to whether or not his heart is still in the game.
14-year-old returns to old yard after enjoying two wins in the last two years for John O'Shea. Looks to have plenty of weight and unlikely to be getting better at this stage, especially after pullng up last two starts.
Confirmed stayer but was a shade disappointing last time out at Southwell. Has claims on his best form and would be a contender if on a going day.
Failed to finish in five of his last six starts but won here in between. Is a perfect two from two at the track including a win at this trip, so despite uninspiring figures might prove the one they all have to beat at his happy hunting ground.
Former point-to-pointer, this mare won over hurdles two starts ago and ran with credit back over fences at Newton Abbott last time. Just a 1lb higher here, so should be in the mix.
Very long losing run stretches back to September 2012 and appears to have very little hope running from 30lb out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Scripturient (5/2), Between The Waters (4/1), Raising Hope (5/1), Sgt Bull Berry (7/1), Shaiyzar (15/2), Zama Zama (15/2), That's The Deal (10/1), Double Chocolate (25/1), Finch Flyer (100/1)
At first glance SGT BULL BERRY appears to have little hope on recent form but he is 2-2 at this track and clearly comes alive in Shakespere country. He should run very well. The mare Raising Hope is in good heart at present and is expected to run a decent race, while top weight Between The Waters is certainly not out of it if putting his best foot forward. It might be worth keeping an eye out for any money for Scripturient, with his yard being very rare visitors to this venue.
- Sgt Bull Berry
- Raising Hope
- Between The Waters
