Form has been progressive in bumpers already winning on his third try in this sphere at Market Rasen having hit the frame in his other two starts. Reported to have bled on his second start he responded in game fashion for his win and won with something in hand. Has a smart Flat pedigree that opens up some other options and should be able to cope with a penalty here.

Maiden Irish pointer who finished third on his last start in that sphere and looks to have a tough start in this sphere.

Closely related to bumper winner/useful hurdler Wilcos Mo Chara and a half-brother to a couple of other winners. Yard are hardly a prolific source of bumper winners though with a strike-rate of just 3% in the last five years.
One of two runners in this for the stable who has shaped very much as a long-term project in two bumper races so far both at Perth. Looked to have still needed the run last time and may show more here though.

Two runs so far have been poor although she did show a little improvement last time when fifth at Uttoxeter. May well have needed that run but her overall form doesn't measure up to her making an impression here.
Lesser fancied of two stablemates from this powerful yard who made her debut at Downpatrick recently finishing sixth having been slowly away and being very inexperienced. Likely to take a step forward here although the drop in trip is a slight worry against some potentially speedier types.
Half-sister to three winners including the useful hurdler Solway Dandy and winning hurdler Solway Prince. Likely to need the run though and looks to be the second string from this yard who are 0/26 in bumpers in the last five years.

Forecasts

Scottsdale (8/13), Lafterlands (3/1), Rubbing Shoulders (7/2), Roches Point (6/1), Solway Lizzie (14/1), Ginny Brig (16/1), Lady Samback (33/1), Ask Shanroe (50/1)

Verdict

A penalty is never easy to carry in bumpers but SCOTTSDALE created a really good impression last time out showing a good turn of foot when winning at Market Rasen and could have too much pace for this group. Lafterlands comes from a yard that have a good record in this sort of event and he should run a sound race with Rubbing Shoulders worth a market check considering her connections. Most of the others look a little outclassed here although Ginny Brig looks to be a slow but steady improver who may get involved here.
  1. Scottsdale
  2. Rubbing Shoulders
  3. Lafterlands
