Still a maiden over hurdles (has had 16 attempts) but has run some decent races without being able to get his head in front. Latest effort a second over C&D saw him take the runner-up slot again when favourite. Should again run his race and has a very hot young talent in the conditional field taking the ride for the first time for a yard that have a superb record here.
Bids to follow-up his clear-cut win here recently over further when he made the most of a reduced mark after shaping well on his previous run. That win does take him to 4lb above his highest winning mark though but his fine course record (3/8 here) make him worthy of respect in his bid to follow up.
Mixes hurdling with chasing with his two most recent wins coming in the former sphere at Musselburgh and Sedgefield off lower marks than he faces today. His last two chase runs have been moderate though particularly his last effort at Market Rasen and he often runs very lazily.
Most of his recent form including his win has come in selling company and in open handicaps he's generally struggled to make much of an impression. May have a chance of grabbing a place on his best form but others are much preferred for the win.
Well-backed and travelled well when running a career best over C&D on his penultimate start off a mark of 99 but looked to go for home to soon and caught near the finish. Given a break after that and ran respectably on his return at Downpatrick over slightly further. Looks capable of winning a race such as this and should be respected in a race such as this.
Has a very undulating profile and possibly not one to place much faith in although he did run a sound race when third at Ayr in March. Failed to build on that though when running poorly at Kelso subsequently (found little for pressure and pulled-up) and overall profile does hold much hope here.
Had some reasonable hurdling form when trained in France but hard to find much promise in his British outings and can only be watched here.
Chase and hurdles outings had brought mixed result but no wins until he struck to end a long losing run at Hexham in June over 2m off a lowly mark. Didn't strike as an obvious type to build on that win and so it proved with a modest effort over the same C&D last time out.

Forecasts
Green Zone (2/1), Broughtons Star (10/3), Sports Barrow (5/1), Meadowcroft Boy (5/1), Tekthelot (13/2), Newstart (7/1), Firstymini (10/1), Morning Time (16/1), Civil Unrest (16/1), Benny's Secret (16/1)
Mostly a disappointing crew with very few (if any) progressive types lurking in the field and that may well give SPORTS BARROW a chance to make amends for his defeat here on his penultimate start when ridden too aggressively despite travelling well. Green Zone looks the main threat on the back of his win here last time that added to his good course record and he along with Tekthelot could still prove better than their marks. Broughtons Star should be in the mix again but he’s a 16-race maiden over hurdles and despite coming from a top yard looks hard to win with.
