Chased home Laugh Aloud in Epsom Group 3 last month (1m½f, good, good to firm) and since run well again in German Group 3. Yet to win on turf, should be thereabout but others appeal more for win purposes.
Consistent sort, was behind Turret Rocks over longer trip here in May, not disgraced last time out in Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes (again behind Turret Rocks) and has to be respected in this contest.
Two wins from five starts last season, both with some juice in the ground. Efforts so far this term have seen the High Chaparral filly appear just shy at Listed/Group-race level and that looks a likely fate again here.
Beat Laganore to win 1m2f Group 3 contest here in May, running credibly over shorter trips in two starts afterwards and far from disgraced in Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes back here a fortnight ago. Holds strong claims.
Won the Listed Nottinghamshire Oaks on her fourth attempt at that level last time (1m2f, good). Now stepped up to this grade and, while she may deserve to take her place in the line-up, the bare form of that last run suggests that this step up in trip will need to induce a fair bit of improvement to see a follow-up.
Only one win from 15 starts so far, coming in a 7f Leopardstown handicap off a mark of 81 last autumn. Well held in previous Pattern-race attempts and doesn't appeal as a likely winner of this race. One of two for the trainer.
Won a maiden over 1m at Naas late last month, since been outclassed (behind a few of these) in the Pretty Polly Stakes here and though yard are positively flying, she'll have to improve to snare this prize. First string for Ballydoyle on jockey booking with Moore up.
Forecasts
Turret Rocks (7/4), Laganore (3/1), Pocketfullofdreams (11/2), Absolute Blast (7/1), Wilamina (8/1), Elizabeth Browning (12/1), Sea Swift (14/1)
Turret Rocks has got the better of LAGANORE in two runs this season but the drop in distance might help the latter to buck that trend. She's a model of consistency and seems sure to be right there in the finish. Turret Rocks is of course very much respected while the Ballydoyle pair of Pocketfullofdreams and Elizabeth Browning cannot be dismissed on these favourable terms. Both are surely going to have to improve, a sentiment also attached to Wilamina, if they are to have a major say.
- Laganore
- Turret Rocks
- Pocketfullofdreams
