John Banks Renault Sport Trophy Handicap

Just one win since 2013, which came at Lingfield (1m4f, AW) in December. Entitled to come on for his most recent effort at Windsor but looks up against it from a handicapping perspective.

Kept on well to win at York last time out, appreciating the step up in trip. 4lb rise not excessive from the handicapper and should enjoy conditions here. Still gives the impression there's more to come and should go well.

Won a maiden at Wolverhampton but has struggled a little in Class 2 handicaps this year. Will enjoy the drop in class here but first-time cheekpieces need to spark a little improvement.

Very consistent sort who wasn't beaten all that far at Carlisle last time out. Looks a little vulnerable from this handicap mark for win purposes but solid place claims and may get an easy time of it on the front end if he front-runs as he did when winning at Lingfield three starts back.

Very consistent as a juvenile and winded up the 2016 season with a win in a Hamilton maiden. Quite the opposite in three starts this time around though and finished a well beaten last at Pontefract last time. Bit to prove currently.

Improved to win his handicap debut and won with ease at Brighton last time, staying on well. Leading claims up 12lb despite a wide draw but go well again with more improvement on the cards and proven on an undulating track.

Impressive winner on debut last time and opening handicap mark looks fair. Improvement expected and yard have a fine record with their runners here.

Won a maiden at Lingfield on third start but opening handicap mark looks harsh and he duly struggled at Newbury last time. Needs more relief from the assessor before he can be considered for win purposes.
