Won a Chester maiden (7½f, good) last year but has suffered for some consistency since going handicapping, with the assessor reluctant to drop her rating and, in fact, she has gone up 3lb again for finishing runner-up at York last time. That makes this tough.
Yet to win on turf but has put in some improved efforts this term, including over C&D last month. Goes into this 1lb lower than that day and should get competitive.
It's some time since we last saw this gelding winning, but he stays 1m4f, acts on any ground and is now 9lb lower than that last success in 2015. Missed a year since then and current yard has had a sighter with him, so he may do better now, but he does have plenty to prove.
Comes here in cracking form after a 1m1f win here (good), backed up by success over the same trip at Carlisle (soft) and then a neck defeat over C&D last time (good). Has gone up 7lb since then, but the front pair were 7L clear last time and he may still have this improvement in him.
Has a good ground 1m1f course win to his name and is in good form at present after being beaten just under 1L at Carlisle (good to soft) last week. Up 1lb for that, so more will be needed and looks to have each-way claims.
Won a 0-70 over C&D (soft) last year when rated a stone lower and improved further during that campaign. Has been in the grip of the assessor this season and well beaten in his last two outings. Tongue-strap added now and needs to spark a revival.
Has scored here over 1m1f. Stays 1m4f, though has yet to record a win over further than 1m2f. Remains 3lb higher than his most recent win at Ayr last year and looks in need of assistance from the handicapper before adding to that.
Went close to winning a Clonmel maiden on her second start this season (1m1½f, good to firm) and goes handicapping from a reasonable mark on her first trip to Scotland. Market check advised to gauge confidence in her chance.
Has shown steady improvement in maiden company, including over 1m1f here and now steps up in trip for this handicap debut from a potentially workable mark. Stable's form not red hot a present, however, so unless there is support for him he is perhaps best watched today.
Scored at Beverley (1m2f, good) from a 3lb lower mark in May, but well held in two subsequent outings and plenty to find on that evidence.

One of those races where it feels as though there are more negatives than positives and it might be worth siding with ARCHI'S AFFAIRE, who is in tremendous form, though he does have to defy another 7lb rise. Detailed is interesting now handicapping after some solid maiden form, while Kingthistle and Dark Intention should both be capable of getting involved. Archipeligo has an each-way squeak too.
