Built on the promise of his Newbury debut to score at Newcastle over 6f. He won more easily than the margin suggests and he is bred to be more effective over this longer trip. Stable are in form but he is giving weight away to better horses here.
Oasis Dream colt, cost 50,000 gns as a yearling. Nice pedigree but related to plenty of middle distance type and already looks in need of further than this.
Rock Of Gibraltar colt, cost 48,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to a couple of moderate winners and showed he was capable of winning races on his Newmarket debut two weeks ago. Well supported that day and showed signs of inexperience. Looks a major player here granted further improvement.
40,000 gns son of Roderic O'Connor out of a dam who has produced multiple winners over distances ranging from 5f-1m6f. In good hands but yard are just 2-46 with their youngster here.
€70,000 half-brother to three winners including Group Three winner Danak. Ran well enough at Salisbury on debut to suggest he has a future but a line through the second gives him something to find with Curiosity.
Cheap purchase in relation to some of these but he overcame inexperience to come from a long way back to take fourth on his Windsor debut. Stable do well here at this time of year and arrive this time with three winners and two seconds from their last five runners. Looks sure to be in the mix.
Yard are 0-8 with their juveniles this year. This Holy Roman Emperor colt cost £16,000 as a yearling and is the first foal of an unraced dam who was a half-sister the smart 6f-7f winner Van Ellis. All at sea on the Chester turns on his debut and even this fairer circuit may fail to produce the required improvement.
Cost 40,000 gns from the successful first crop of Havana Gold and out of a mare who has produced several middle-distance winners. Yard's juveniles are improving for a run and worth checking what the market thinks.
Attracted some support on her Newbury debut last week. Met with trouble just after the start and made late headway without looking likely to be involved. One to note given the improvement the stable's juveniles are finding following their introductions.

Forecasts
Curiosity (15/8), Jack Regan (7/2), Puchita (6/1), Serjeant Painter (13/2), Perfect Hustler (7/1), Preacher Man (15/2), Sotomayor (12/1), Jazeel (20/1), Snooker Jim (50/1), Colorado Dream (50/1)
Several nice types line up for this with recent winner Curiosity giving weight away to youngsters who are likely to improve considerably from their recent debuts. Jack Regan attracted significant support for his initial run but a slow start and early greenness ruined his chances. Puchita and Preacher Man are nice types who look sure to win races but on this occasion we give the nod to SERJEANT PAINTER. The yard could not be in much better form and had a juvenile winner a few days ago. Historically the stable do well at the July fixtures here and there was a lot to like about his debut effort.
- Serjeant Painter
- Jack Regan
- Puchita
