Smart performer and certainly well in at the weights here having run really well in a Group 2 at Ascot last time out. Travelled well there and really should be able to make his presence felt here.
Faces a tough task at these weights with Chemical Charge but does have some winning form to his name and ran well in a top-class handicap at Haydock last time out. Should give a decent account especially if allowed to gain an easy lead as looks likely.
Useful handicapper who won at Hamilton on his penultimate start and tan a sound enough race last time out at Newcastle on the AW. Like the majority of these though he does have a stiff task at the weights and a place looks to be the best that he can hope for.
Very much the second string from this yard and only rated 55 these days for handicaps that gives him a near impossible task here. Ran respectably on his latest start at Ayr but looks to have a mountain to climb here.
Rather lost her way after starting 2016 in top form although she has been highly tried in some races. Hasn't run at all well this year and was pulled-up soon after the start last time out at Newcastle and hard to know what to expect here.
Interesting filly who showed some smart form in bumpers and showed that she could cut it on the Flat when finishing third in a Listed race on her debut in this sphere last time out at Pontefract. Still has plenty to find with the principals but very much open to further improvement in this sphere.
Forecasts
Chemical Charge (5/6), Soldier In Action (11/4), Maleficent Queen (13/2), Sir Chauvelin (12/1), Shearling (14/1), Jonny Delta (200/1)
The conditions probably could not be much better for CHEMICAL CHARGE who should be giving far more weight than he does to all of these and this is an ease in grade from his Royal Ascot engagement. Soldier In Action looks to be the main danger given his useful handicap form while it’s hard to know what to expect from Maleficent Queen. Given that it may be that we will see Sir Chauvelin and Shearling battling it out for the minor placings.
- Chemical Charge
- Soldier In Action
- Shearling
