Ballingarry (yiedling) maiden point-to-point winner at the third time of asking in that sphere last month. Third of eight, beaten 11L on rules debut in Gowran Park bumper.
Showed only moderate promise in five maidens so far, twice letting favourite backers down. Was a remote third of 20 at Tipperary, before pulled up here in May.
Bumper winner at Wexford (over 2m4f) in May, coming right away late in the piece, and a perfectly solid first hurdles effort at Punchestown, but pulled up last day in Downpatrick maiden hurdle in June.
Related to winning chasers and connections wasting little time with him over hurdles. Close fourth in a handicap hurdle at Down Royal in March, eighth of 14 last day, beaten 16½L in Downpatrick chase over 2m3f.
Tenth of 13, beaten 50L on maiden hurdle debut at Gowran Park over 2m4f on good ground.
Fairly consistent Point-To-Pointer for the Townend family since May 2015.
Belatedly started his career earlier this year in a novice chase which resulted in him unseating the rider (jumping very poorly throughout), and has been no better in three maiden hurdles since.
Failed to complete in four point-to-point starts and well beaten in a bumper on his rules debut. Runner-up in a 3m maiden hurdle at Cork in May. Third of 14, beaten 6½L in Wexford maiden hurdle last week. Will shape better here.
Kalanisi mare who finished in mid-division on debut at Cork in May over 2m, before 10th of 14, beaten 37L in Wexford maiden hurdle last week.
Well beaten and no impression on two hurdle starts since May, including 29L defeat at Limerick earlier in the week.
No encouragement in three PTP starts, pulled up on her last two starts and eighth of 18, beaten 28L in Limerick bumper on Sunday.
Eighth foal of a moderate but well-related hurdles winner. Dam's previous offspring failed to register a win and this four-year-old doesn't look like going against the grain.
Forecasts
Major Destination (11/4), Boston Spray (4/1), Whatsinthecorner (9/2), Hickey's Rock (5/1), Optimised (11/2), Echo Lady (8/1), Rwegoinhigh (25/1), Vellutato (50/1), Sweet Destination (50/1), Vodka Society (66/1), Rail Park Lad (80/1), Dora Marquez (100/1)
Hickey's Rock and Optimised could dispute the early lead here, with Echo Lady and, third of 14, beaten 6½L in Wexford maiden hurdle last week, Whatsinthecorner, in behind with the selection, MAJOR DESTINATION, who showed a perfectly solid first hurdles effort at Punchestown, but pulled up, when beaten last time out and can put that behind him here.
- Major Destination
- Whatsinthecorner
- Boston Spray
