Typical late bloomer for this yard and improved for the application of headgear to land three races before a career best on his last start. Up another 3lb for that but open to further progress and stable ( 8-24 around here) can have them ready following an absence.

Winner on the Flat here in 2016 over 1m6f before finding a rise in the weights beyond him at Ayr. Progressed into a useful juvenile hurdler and he would be a definite contender if any of that improvement is evident here. Stable have been struggling for winners of late.

Unfortunate as his latest effort barely warranted a 4lb rise in the weights as the form has not worked out at all well. Had winning bumper form on soft ground and promises to be better served by this longer trip. Looks like one to check in the market with the stable showing signs of a return to form.

Winner over 2m2f in bad ground at Pontefract in April 2016 and only lightly raced since. Kept off the track six months following a fall over hurdles last summer and off a further three since a lacklustre effort at Carlisle in March. Needs to prove his wellbeing although the yard don't mind a punt and any trading activity would make him more interesting.

Produced an improved effort in the Hamilton mud last time and is asked to go another 3f here. There are not many by his sire who go this far on the Flat but he threatens to do so judged on that latest run. In receipt of plenty of weight he looks one for the shortlist.

Looks a poor maiden no matter what the headgear or surface. Trying a new trip from a mark 27lb out of the handicap.

Verdict

Tenzing Norgay returns to action over a new trip and representing a stable that has an excellent record on their raids here. Positive signals for him and also Almost Gemini would arouse interest. Hurricane Hollow and Project Bluebook are respected on their National Hunt form but both look fully weighted unless they can improve on their latest Flat efforts. One who is heading the right way is ADDICTED TO YOU who receives plenty of weight from his principal rivals. Mark Johnston's charge handles a soft surface and produced a career best last time. He is due to race off a 3lb higher mark in future so connections will be keen to cash in here.
