Dual bumper winner who lacked the pace to mount a serious challenge at Carlisle on Saturday. This looks less competitive but still hard to see him threatening here unless more use is made of him.
Nine-race maiden with a BHA rating that would see him receiving plenty of weight from many of these in a handicap.
Has travelled well enough until the business end on both starts to date. This looks a lot easier and he is one of the more interesting runners.
Little show in three maidens when sent off at lengthy odds. Current BHA rating takes a cautious view but she would be the type to improve this season over middle-distances. Stable took this in 2010 and 2011 so worth noting in pre-race trading.

Newmarket stables have won five of the six renewals of this race and they are represented here by PIEDITA and Staff College. The former should do better over these longer distances and represents a stable with a good history in this event. Staff College has a BHA rating that appears to flatter him and carries stamina doubts into this. Uber Cool may be better than we have seen so far as he drops into an easier race whilst Second Page has not looked one to put maximum faith in.
