Finished runner-up twice in competitive handicaps in the spring but disappointed twice off higher marks since. Races off a mark 2lb lower than when well held at Ripon (good-to-soft) last time out though yard out of form at present (0/20).
Winner of four of her 16 starts to date including over 1m at Newmarket (good-to-soft) off a 3lb lower mark last October. Debuted for this trainer when well beaten at Newcastle last month and probably best watched at present.
Victorious over 1m at Thirsk (soft) in May and a couple of respectable efforts since including when not beaten far into sixth in an eight runner contest over C&D last time out. Interesting for a yard with a 31% strike-rate recently (10/32).
Successful over an extended 1m at Nottingham (good-to-firm) in May but held twice subsequently including when 6L sixth at Musselburgh (good-to-firm) last time out.
Beaten a neck by Lavetta over 1m at Newmarket (good-to-soft) last October but well held in two runs so far this season and others make more appeal in this.
Broke his maiden over 6f on good-to-soft ground here 12 months ago. Best effort this year came when beaten 3L into third in a valuable 14 runner 7f handicap at Newmarket (good) last month. Races off a 2lb lower mark here following two subsequent defeats.
Forecasts
Town Charter (13/8), Finn Class (3/1), Normandie Lady (9/2), Two For Two (7/1), Little Lady Katie (7/1), Lavetta (14/1)
TOWN CHARTER can register his second career success by taking this 1m handicap for in-form trainer Mark Johnston (20/92). The selection put in a fair effort on his only previous start over this distance at Redcar last month and can get the better of Finn Class who can put a disappointing effort last time out behind him by getting the better of Normandie Lady in the race for second.
