Scored over fences at the second attempt at Fairyhouse in February (2m1f heavy) and kept largely decent company (including in a Grade 3 at Naas) since. However, disappointing at Kilbeggan recently and although likely sharper here down in trip on better ground, needs to bounce back against talented rivals.
Probably booked for a place when falling at the last in a strong handicap at Leopardstown in January, and made no mistake after a six month break when hacking up by 15L from Dicosimo over 2m4f (soft) here last month. Drops in trip on faster ground but tough to beat if producing a similar performance.
Solid enough performer over fences (winning over 2m6f at Thurles in March), but thrashed by Bentelimar over 2m4f here last month, and finished last of eight in a hot race at Kilbeggan most latterly (Alamein seventh). Trip and forecast faster ground not ideal.
Classy 142 rated hurdler who beat all bar Townshend on his chasing debut at Roscommon last month. With his trainer in fine form quickly went one better when handing out a 2½L beating to Roconga over C&D a fortnight ago. Obvious claims of following up.
Finished a fairly remote eighth of 13 on chasing debut behind Peregrine Run and Roconga over C&D recently and holds little chance on these terms.
Won a couple of hurdles for Willie Mullins in early 2016 before going chasing for his new trainer at Navan in November (sixth to Min). Very lightly raced since, but still in front (led) when falling five out at Ballinrobe (2m3f good) in late May.
132 rated hurdler (4 from 25) but finished many lengths behind Peregrine Run and Roconga on chasing debut over C&D recently (seventh). Little obvious reason for a reversal on these terms, and late enough to chasing at the age of nine.
Little promise since winning on the Flat at Ballinrobe in July 2015, and well out of his depth against such talented rivals on his chasing debut.
Has 2½L to find with Peregrine Run (on 6lb better terms) from their clash over C&D last month. However, this gelding had more chasing experience than that rival and was rather comfortably held, so has it all to do to reverse those placings. Obvious place prospects.

A splendid looking Novice Chase for July, with a number of these runners being classy performers over the smaller obstacles. PEREGRINE RUN comfortably got the better of Roconga over C&D last month on just his second start over fences. With the Fahey yard in fine form, he's taken to follow up despite 6lb worse terms with the chief danger this time around likely to come from Bentelimar who handed out a 15L thrashing of Dicosimo over 2m4f on much softer ground here in early June.
- Peregrine Run
- Bentelimar
