Justified odds-on favouritism to make winning start for champion trainer at Cork (2m, good) in May after arriving from France. Wasn't the most impressive of displays visually, but no surprise should there be more to come.
Reached a mark of 89 on the Flat with Mark Johnson in Britain without shedding maiden tag but no such mistake when making winning start over timber at Roscommon last month (2m½f, yielding to soft) and could be more to come from respected yard.

Very tame efforts in three maiden hurdles so far, nigh on impossible to envisage a leading role in this on that evidence.

Winner of one from nine starts on the Flat in Britain when in the care of Martyn Meade, clearly has some talent and could go well in this sphere though comes to this after more than a year on the sidelines. No shock to see him needing the run.

Hit the frame last month at Roscommon over 2m (good to firm) despite having gone off 100/1. That was the first positive of his six-race jumping career. Hard to anticipate he'll build significantly on it this evening and others make plenty more appeal.

An 11-race maiden on the Flat who would struggle with some of these in that sphere. Has been off since December and a watching brief is surely the best course of action for this jumps bow.

Beaten 54L in good ground bumper at Ballinrobe in May over extended two-miles, plenty to work on now going jumping hurdles for the first time.

Forecasts

Royal Hawk (8/11), Twobeelucky (6/4), Bhutan (8/1), Fraser (16/1), Edification (20/1), Zauffaly (50/1), Bobby Boucher (66/1), Tangerine (66/1)

Verdict

Royal Hawk is sure to be popular for the champion trainer in this but his winning Irish debut at Cork was as much workmanlike as it was anything else. He may have more to offer but does not look a stable star in the making so he might be worth taking on. TWOBEELUCKY made a pleasing start to his jumps career and, having reached a mark of 89 on the Flat, has plenty scope for better at this game. Henry De Bromhead's charge can take this prize. Bhutan's only jumps start to date was in a Grade One, so he'll surely find this more to his liking while Edification may also do well in this sphere, though his long absence tempers enthusiasm for today.
  1. Twobeelucky
  2. Royal Hawk
  3. Bhutan
