7/1
Won over fences for the first time when 5L too good for Rainy City over C&D in May. However, penalised as a result and faces a couple of much classier higher rated hurdlers, so has plenty on his plate as he seeks to follow up.

Beat That38
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-12| J: D J Mullins| T: N J Henderson| BF| D
8/11
Very good novice hurdler during the 2013/14 season, winning the Sefton at Aintree (April 2014), and a Grade 1 contest at Punchestown later that month. Had his problems during a much truncated career since, but beaten only ½L by Brother Tedd on chasing debut (2m4f) at Uttoxeter in May. Longer trip should suit.

Fagan185
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| C| D
15/8
Very promising bumper campaigner during 2015/16 and developed into a smart novice hurdler finishing second to Unowhatimeanharry in the 2016 Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival. Lost his way a shade since, and pulled up on his rules chasing debut at Fairyhouse on New Years Day. Better expected.

Here Comes Lovet10
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: D R Fox| T: P Griffin| OR:  83
125/1
Eleven race maiden who was a well beaten fourth of five to Peace And Co at Hexham ten days ago and looks out of his depth once more against stronger rivals.
5

Solway Trigger43
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: Callum Bewley(3)| T: Miss L Harrison| OR:  67
125/1
Seventeen race maiden with an official rating in the high 60's. No show on his chasing debut at Hexham in May (Class 5 handicap) and simply making up the numbers against these rivals.

Forecasts

Beat That (8/11), Fagan (15/8), Baby Bach (7/1), Solway Trigger (125/1), Here Comes Love (125/1)

Verdict

BEAT THAT has the most ability of this quintet, and whilst clearly no longer quite the force of old, should have a decent enough future over fences. He performed to a reasonable standard on his chasing debut at Uttoxeter, and whilst effectively beaten in a match by Brother Tedd, a reproduction of that showing should see him holding all of the aces over 2016 Albert Bartlett runner up Fagan, and recent C&D novice chase winner Baby Bach.
  1. Beat That
  2. Fagan
  3. Baby Bach
