Made all to win over C&D recently (good to firm) and did it by over 3L. Stable in tremendous form in recent days and if he handles the forecast softer conditions then he should go very close in trying to successfully conceded weight all around.
Was in the van for a long way on his debut at Leicester (6f, good to soft) in May, before being beaten almost 10L. Stable's runners often come on plenty for their first outing and he will need to if he is to finish in the money.
50-1 and made a quiet debut at Carlisle recently (6f, good), finishing a 36L last of 11. Should come on for that, but for him this looks like being the next part of his learning curve and he looks more likely to be competitive in nurseries.
Went well for a long way on debut at Carlisle last month (6f, soft) before being beaten 8L, but that was an encouraging effort and he has each-way claims in this field.
Made a really encouraging first effort when beaten just over 2L into second at Ayr (6f, good). A repeat of that should see him competitive once again and any improvement will make him tough to beat.
16,000gns yearling. Half-brother to winners Kelamita (1m4f/1m6f AW), Coarse Cut (1m3f-1m6f inc AW) and Popularity (5f-1m3f Italy), out of a Listed-placed 1m Fr/US winner, out of 1m1f Listed winner. Yard not usually known for debut winners, so probably one to watch this time.
€21,000 foal who cost £15,000 as a yearling. Half-sister to an Italian 6f winner, out of an unplaced 7f 2yo half-sister to 1m2½f Listed winner Trinity Joy, out of Listed-placed 6f-7f AW winning half-sister to 1m2f Group Two winner talented. Yard not normally known for juvenile debut winners, but has had one this season, so market check suggested.
Full-sister to Laureate, who was placed over 6½f-1m6f and a half-sister to 1m4f winner Regal Ways, out of a 1m½f (inc AW as a juvenile) and 1m4f winning half-sister to Us 1m½f Grade Three winner Kid Grindstone. Yard in consistently good form and can have debut winners, so market check very much advised.
Raced keen and green on her Pontefract debut (6f, good) last month, when beaten just over 7L. Should do better for that experience and a significant improvement would not surprise.
Forecasts
Armed Response (13/8), Up Sticks And Go (10/3), Sandama (8/1), Wensley (17/2), Austin Powers (9/1), Moremoneymoreparty (9/1), Tanaya (12/1), Poetic Steps (20/1), Ray Purchase (50/1)
Not the strongest of contests, though Sandama, Tanaya and Austin Powers are all potentially significant improvers and merit market checks along with newcomer Poetic Steps. However, experience should count and both Up Sticks And Go and ARMED RESPONSE has the best of that and the latter is taken to follow-up his recent C&D success.
- Armed Response
- Armed Response
- Sandama
