Impressive winner at the second time of asking on his seasonal debut in a 16 runner contest over an extended 1m at Nottingham (good-to-firm) in April. Steps up in trip here and is a half-brother to classy middle distance performers Vadamar and Vadevani.
Completing a treble when winning over 1m1f at Newmarket (good-to-firm) last October. Disappointing twice for Paul Cole this season and making his debut for this yard here.
Winner on debut over 7f at Ayr (good-to-soft) last September but disappointing off this mark when last of five on handicap debut at Ripon (good-to-firm) in April and probably best watched stepping up in trip today.
Ascot handicap winner over 1m in May and hampered when well beaten at Epsom over this trip subsequently. Finished runner-up over 1m1f at Sandown (good-to-firm) last time out and is an interesting runner here.
Runner-up on two of his three starts prior to being gelded. Returning from nearly four months off the track when making his handicap and turf debut over 1m4f at Goodwood (last of eight) a fortnight ago and wears a hood for the first time dropping in trip today.
Victorious over an extended 1m at Nottingham (good) on his penultimate outing. Finished a well beaten sixth over this distance at Epsom (good) subsequently and others have a more obvious chance despite a 3lb drop in the weights.
Forecasts
Valcartier (6/5), Count Calabash (10/3), Mister Blue Sky (9/2), Hajaj (6/1), War At Sea (20/1), Kitten's Johnstown (20/1)
VALCARTIER impressed when taking a maiden contest on his seasonal reappearance and John Gosden's colt is bred to appreciate this step up in trip. The selection made all to win last time and can take this competitive looking contest on his first attempt at handicaps. Hajaj disappointed on his only attempt at this trip so far but ran well over slightly shorter at Sandown last time and can claim second here with War At Sea another of interest in a first time hood today.
- Valcartier
- Hajaj
- War At Sea
