Hasn't placed in any of his races since winning at Pontefract last April, though he is now back down below his handicap mark for that race for the first time since.
Three of his four wins have come on Southwell's specialist Fibresand surface, and though he was a winner on the Tapeta at the beginning of his career he has something prove now returning to it.
Slightly disappointing when beaten favourite last time out but retains potential on recent efforts and goes down a further 2lb. Could be worth chancing again on ground that will suit.
Has run some very solid races so far this year but couldn't land a blow at Pontefract last time (6f, good), and needs to leave that effort behind her now.
C&D winner who seeks a hat-trick here having won over shorter at Wolverhampton last time out. Up a further 4lb but is in probably the best form of his life and should run another big race.
C&D win three start ago seems like a mild fluke given how he was running before and has been since. Handicapper looks to have a firm grip on him, even with the potential benefit of first time cheek pieces.
Second over this trip at Nottingham last time out was one of his much better recent efforts, and is raised only 1lb for that effort. Interesting if able to repeat that level of form.
Back down to his preferred trip but it's a concern that his only win to date came on heavy ground on the turf, though he has run some solid races on this surface in the past.
No win since his second ever racecourse appearance back in June 2015, and can't be recommended on the basis of his recent performances even with a rapidly lowering handicap mark.
Favourite for his last five races, justifying that position in the mark on two of those occasions. On the same mark as when beaten 2L at Brighton last time with the drop in trip and return to this surface sure to suit on his first start since leaving David Loughnane.
Narrow winner for the first time at Catterick last time. Will need to find more now up 4lb but is going the right way and is much less exposed than many of the rest of these.
C&D winner who has a good record both at this course and on this surface in general. Not on the most appealing of marks but has a reasonable chance if able to overcome a wide draw.
Eight race maiden who has run some solid enough races up until now but who is entitled to find this race challenging enough.
C&D winner in March when aided by first-time cheek pieces an has run mostly with credit since then, though he remains 6lb higher than her most recent victory, and 11lb than that last win at Newcastle.
Forecasts
Quiet Warrior (4/1), Interlink (6/1), Yarmouk (7/1), Man About Town (8/1), Athollblair Boy (9/1), Party Tiger (9/1), Dream Ally (12/1), French (12/1), Epeius (14/1), Sea Of Green (16/1), Traveltalk (20/1), Avenue Of Stars (22/1), Big Amigo (25/1), Racquet (33/1)
It may not be entirely straightforward for DREAM ALLY to land a hat-trick here, but it's almost impossible not to be impressed with the progress he has shown recently, and with the potential for more to come returning to a trip he will probably prefer, he looks to be the one to side with here. The relatively unexposed Traveltalk and in-form Quiet Warrior are others to consider.
- Dream Ally
- Traveltalk
- Quiet Warrior
