Former smart stayer on the Flat but well beaten in both starts over hurdles, including his first one for this yard. Also a 20L last of nine when tried over 2m½f at Newcastle in February and although he should outclass some of these, he is not easy to fancy on his hurdles form.

Has not seen much racecourse action for a seven-year-old, but looks to be finding his feet under the guidance of his current handler, for whom he improved last time to finish a 3L runner-up here over 2m1f (soft). Conditions not a problem and very likely that this trip will suit him better. Should go well.

Has won six on the Flat, but 0-15 in this discipline, where he has yet to even make the frame. Has plenty to find to get competitive and others preferred.
Placed in a point-to-point in November (3m, good) and at 8/1 perhaps more was anticipated from him on his hurdles debut here last month, when he was beaten 77L over C&D (good). Interesting jockey booking for local yard that does well here, so could do much better.

Irish raider who beat just two home on his debut in a Downpatrick bumper last month (beaten 60L, 2m1½f, good). Thrown straight in over hurdles here. Grandam was a 2m4f/2m5f hurdle/chase winner, so he should be able to improve and a market check is suggested.

Has shown reasonable form in two bumpers and a couple of novices' hurdles., though the fact that Henry Brooke and Brian Hughes, who have shared the last three rides on him, look elsewhere, is not positive on this first try over this longer trip.

Has made steady improvement in three outings and made the frame last time, albeit it beaten 18L, in a novices' maiden hurdle at Southwell (2m4½f, good). Still has it to prove in these conditions and realistically she is probably playing for a place in the frame at best.
Placed in four of her nine point-to-points in Ireland and handles cut in the ground. Stamina won't be a problem here either and interesting to see what this trainer, who does well with his mares, has done with her in the short time since she joined the yard. Market check advised.

Forecasts

Its Pandorama (1/1), Schlipf (3/1), Stetsonsnstilettos (5/1), Strong Resemblance (8/1), Barely Black (12/1), Highland Castle (18/1), Dubai Flyer (33/1), Monzino (100/1)

Verdict

Stetsonsnstilettos is an interesting contender on her first start for Donald McCain and it would not be a surprise to see her show up well in what is a weak contest. Nonetheless, Brian Ellison has probably found a good opportunity for ITS PANDORAMA to get off the mark over hurdles, while locally-trained Strong Resemblance is interesting now partnered by Brian Hughes and looks the other major player in the field. Barely Black should also be able to continue to progress.
  1. Its Pandorama
  2. Strong Resemblance
  3. Stetsonsnstilettos
