Big Bad Bob colt who shaped with plenty of promise here on debut (5F) when fourth of six to Pilkington (runner up Sosian ran well since at York). No concerns with regards this extra furlong and likely to take another step forward.
Never competitive on debut at Carlisle (5F) earlier this month (fifth of eight to John Kirkup). No surprise to see this colt upped in trip, but needs to have come on a bundle to be involved in this contest.
Stable has a magnificent recent record in this contest, and this High Chaparral colt ran well on debut at Newbury (6F) a fortnight ago when under 1L third to shock winner Bullington Bandit. Every likelihood he'll be stronger and wiser for that experience and looks the horse the others have to beat.
His debut third over C&D in May looks strong form and has produced winners galore, including Coventry Stakes hero Rajasinghe. However, he was disappointing at Carlisle on his next start, but with some plausible excuses (5F on soft ground). Fully respected. Non-runner at Carlisle on Wednesday.
Unraced sixth foal by Camelot out of Red Blooded Woman and cost 16,000 gns as a yearling. Has winners in his pedigree and represents a leading stable for juveniles so worthy of note on debut, but with Paul Hanagan booked for another runner.
Unraced third foal by Intikhab out of Ramamara and fetched £12,000 as a two-year-old. Half-brother to Hong Kong winner Letsgofree, and part owned by David Armstrong who always enjoys a winner or two at his local track.
Unraced first foal by High Chaparral out of Sharaarah. His dam was a sprint winner on the Fibresand and is a sister to juvenile winner Sadafiya. Stable not known for juvenile winners, but have done well at this track since the introduction of Tapeta.
Not shown a great deal in two starts so far, including on debut over C&D when last of eight to Guzman/Benadalid. Little obvious chance against these rivals.
Forecasts
Curiosity (5/6), Move It Move It (5/2), Big Les (15/2), Spray The Sea (11/1), Ulshaw Bridge (14/1), Odds On Oli (20/1), Burn Some Dust (33/1), Brough Lane Lass (100/1)
Hugo Palmer has a most impressive record in this race, with the likes of Gifted Master amongst his recent winners, therefore CURIOUSITY looks an obvious contender. He emerged from his recent Newbury debut with immense credit, and if just a fraction stronger should be off the mark at the second attempt under the excellent Josephine Gordon. Move It Move It is the obvious danger with his debut effort looking rock-solid form.
- Curiosity
- Move It Move It
- Big Les
