$37,000 yearling, who sold for €130,000 at the recent breeze-ups. Half-brother to five winners from 6f-1m½f, including one at Group Three and two as juveniles. Dam is an unraced granddaughter of US multiple 1m1f Grade One winner Dispute. Yard in cracking form and juveniles part of that. Likely to be able to make an impact on debut.

Made a pleasing debut when belying odds of 40-1 to finish third, beaten just over 1L at Ayr (6f, soft) earlier in the month. Should do well when stepped up in trip, but well worth another try over this one for now and clearly won't mind any rain. Interesting contender.

Showed improvement for his Leicester debut (5f, good to soft) when stepped up to this trip at Chester (good to soft) last time and making the frame. Should be able to continue that upward curve and he is another who won't mind any cut, so look likely to be very competitive.

Came on nicely for her Ripon debut when a 3L third over this trip at Haydock (soft) earlier in the month. Should be capable of making another stride forward this time and receives the fillies' allowance. Interesting to see what the market makes of her chance compared to her stablemate.

Forecasts

Arch Gold (7/4), Quayside (9/4), Here In The Dark (5/2), Savalas (4/1), Kirbec (13/2)

Verdict

A really interesting maiden where you could make a case for all of the quintet. Arch Gold should be capable of a decent debut effort, while Keith Dalgleish-trained pair Here In The Dark and Kirbec each outperformed market expectations first time out and it will be very interesting to see what the bookmakers make of their respective chances going into this. Quayside is a potential improver too, and the same can be said of SAVALAS, who made a good debut in a hot contest and might just have the edge this time.
  1. Savalas
  2. Arch Gold
  3. Kirbec
