Lightly raced individual that turned in a better effort at Ffos Las last time, jumping fluently in the main and only beaten by a well-handicapped rival. This is no harder and a repeat of that could be good enough, although this trip remains an unknown.

Multiple point-to-point winner that's well treated on the best of that form, but that's been the case for a while now and more often than not he's unable to capitalise. Another laboured effort last time and hard to know what to expect, although likely conditions ideal.

Chase debut today but seems to struggle to jump hurdles with any great fluency, so not one to be going overboard on. Form over hurdles regressive too (well beaten in a match last time) and it all looks too risky.

Another having his chase debut today and pedigree offers some hope he might take to it, but has been going backwards over hurdles for the past year and now some 20lb below his mark this time last year. Change of discipline needs to have a major effect, and no guarantees he stays the trip either.

Well backed to deliver the goods (hurdles) last time out and did so with a bit in hand, so 3lb rise here not a worry. Switches to fences and only try to date over them was less than auspicious, but too soon to write off on that score. Stays trip, ground fine, and every chance if jumping fluently.

Was turning in some decent efforts over fences in the spring, and went close to breaking her duck on more than one occasion, but recent efforts suggest she's gone off the boil and the tally is now 0 wins from 28 runs. Others are preferred.

Finished a distant third in a incident-packed race here a week ago, staying on late over a trip too short for him. That was at least an improvement on previous efforts and conditions here fine, but he's just got the 1 win from 31 starts and is clearly no win machine.

Has looked short of pace at times so this trip might bring about a bit of improvement, but it's needed on what he's shown so far. Did do a little better at Fakenham last time, so not dismissed from such a lowly mark.

Forecasts

Raising Hope (11/4), More Than Luck (7/2), Bennys Girl (6/1), Repeat The Feat (6/1), Academy General (17/2), The Mythologist (9/1), Badilou (9/1), Oriental Fixer (12/1)

Verdict

If More Than Luck stays this trip he could prove hard to beat. He jumped much better at Ffos Las and a similar display would have plenty of these in trouble. However, there are no guarantees of that, and a chance is taken on RAISING HOPE getting it right in the jumping department. He's well treated if he can, and could follow up his win here last week. Repeat The Feat is another that needs to prove himself at the trip but the feeling is that there's better to come from him, and he's not out of this either.
  1. Raising Hope
  2. Repeat The Feat
  3. More Than Luck
