Won a Salisbury maiden (1m2f, good to firm) for Ralph Beckett last season and was beaten 2½L from 1lb higher next time on her handicap debut. has made a nice enough start for this trainer in two runs this year and this stiff track at today's trip should play to her strengths.
Has been a super servant to connections with 11 wins to his name and was not far away from a first one for this trainer on his first start for him at Wolverhampton in February. Returns to turf after being freshened up and has a good record after a break, so although he is probably weighted up to his best he is certainly not ruled out.
Yet to win here, though went close to doing so over C&D when runner-up from 5lb lower last season. Picked up three wins in that campaign, but is 0-6 so far this term. Has shown on his last two starts that he can be very competitive from this mark, though he may again find one or two too good.
Scored over C&D last month (good to firm) from 1lb lower. Things have not gone his way since then, but could do better now back here and if he can be relied upon to produce his best then he would have every chance.
Sole success from 15 attempts was at Redcar over 1m6f (soft) last October and he has been tried over both 2m and 1m4f on his three subsequent starts. Not sure that fast ground and this shorter trip will place sufficient emphasis on his proven stamina.
Maiden after 10 starts and goes into this from 1lb out of the handicap. Slipping to a workable mark, but trainer has not had a great deal to work with by the looks of it so far and is best watched unless there are particularly positive market vibes.
Broke his duck here over C&D (good to firm) last month from 5lb lower and was beaten just 1L when trying for a repeat last week. Up in class today and 1lb out of the handicap, he will need to improve, though you couldn't rule him out of the frame.
Forecasts
Save The Bees (11/4), Bromance (11/4), Sunglider (4/1), Desert Way (11/2), Torremar (7/1), Toga Tiger (10/1), Frankster (50/1)
Rebecca Menzies has had a couple of sighters with DESERT WAY, who is taken to come good for her this time from the top of the list. The filly's form is very solid and she might just have too much class for her opponents. Toga Tiger is weighted up to his best, but remains competitive and the same can be said of Save The Bees and bigger dangers may come in the form of Sunglider and Bromance.
