Off the mark at the second time of asking when winning over C&D on good-to-firm ground early last month. Well beaten on handicap debut on soft ground at Doncaster last time and the return to forecast quicker ground here should see him in a better light.

Stepped up on his debut when winning over 7f on soft ground at Haydock earlier this month. Disappointed on good-to-firm ground on debut and making his handicap debut today.

Broke her maiden when making her handicap debut over 1m at Leicester (good) at the end of last month. Represents leading connections here and interesting despite an 8lb rise in the weights.

Winner three times from four starts since being gelded last autumn. Two of those victories have come over C&D including on good-to-soft ground off a 5lb lower mark last month. Likely to run well again here.

Twice a winner at two and placed over 1m on good ground at Leicester last month. Turned out quickly when well beaten at the same track a day later and vulnerable to less exposed horses here.

Forecasts

Rumpole (6/4), Meshaykh (11/4), Sir Plato (7/2), Rubens Dream (5/1), Fastnet Spin (16/1)

Verdict

SIR PLATO has won three of his four starts since being gelded with the sole defeating coming when stepped up in trip and he can continue that good run by claiming this 1m handicap. The selection made virtually all the running last time out and similar tactics here can see him defeat the filly Meshaykh who represents leading connections today and got off the mark off an 8lb lower mark last time. Rumpole disappointed on soft ground last time but should be better suited by forecast ground conditions today and he can claim third.
  1. Sir Plato
  2. Meshaykh
  3. Rumpole
