From a stable that have really hit form this month (8/22) and this decent handicap hurdler has already won over fences having built on a rather disappointing first effort over the larger obstacles. That win last time showed him in a much better light over a shorter trip (2m4f) when he travelled well and looked open to improvement. Longer trip will prove no trouble and has a good chance of following up that initial win.

Achieved far higher ratings over hurdles than Court King but only looks to be of about the same ability over fences and apart from his sole win over fences he's hardly set the pulse racing in this sphere. Trips such as this have looked to test him the last twice with his tardy jumping also holding him back and his propensity to get behind in the early stages is also worrying.

Winner of two of his point-to-point starts the latest at Restricted at Maisemore Park in April after having three starts over hurdles for his current trainer. Now returned to that same yard he makes his chasing debut in novice handicap company a sphere that his trainer has a good record in especially on debut.

Five-time point-to-point winner although winless this season and from a long way out of the handicap is surly tilting at windmills here.

Forecasts

Court King (11/10), Box Office (9/4), Cuirassier Dempire (10/3), Billing (16/1)

Verdict

Apart from the rank outsider Billing this is quite an interesting little contest although Box Office will need to jump much better than he has of late and that sluggishness may well hand the advantage to COURT KING who jumped well here recently and holds the greater scope for improvement in this sphere. Cuirassier Dempire is a fascinating “newcomer” and worthy of a market check with Tom George having such a good record with his runners in this sphere.
