Group 3 winner last time out and the runner-up has come out and franked the form by winning a Group 2 since. Entitled to come on for that run and he ought to enjoy the strong pace this is likely to be run at; should go well for a yard in flying form.
Easy winner of both of his starts earlier in the year but may struggle to cut it at this level and he needs a big chunk of improvement. Yard have had an excellent week so far and trainer excels with his sprinters so certainly can't be ruled out.
Won a Group 1 with ease at the Curragh last summer and returned with a Group 3 success at Naas on comeback run last month. Every chance he's not done improving just yet and he's versatile with regards to ground and tactics. Clearly the one they all have to beat and looks capable of retaining his unbeaten record.
Runner-up behind Blue Point in a Group 3 over C&D last month and improved to win a Group 2 at Haydock. Not beyond the realms of possibility he can reverse the form with the owner's other horse in this contest but the yard have been just a little quiet in recent weeks and needs to be at his very best if he's going to give Caravaggio any sort of race.
Has run okay in a couple of Listed races this year but that level of form well below what's required to take this contest and while the yard's second string can often run big races at this meeting, they have much stronger claims with Caravaggio. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Useful juvenile who finished second to Ardad in a Group 2 towards the end of last year but well beaten on both outings this campaign and would probably want softer ground to be seen at his best.
Third behind Caravaggio at Naas when last seen but that result probably flatters him a little and no doubt that rival will come on for that run. Only one to have been gelded in this line up and he's up against it with only a maiden win to his name.
Rattled off a hat-trick in France over the winter but well beaten in a pair of Group 3 contests subsequently and likely to struggle in this company.
Won a Group 2 in France as a juvenile but limitations exposed subsequently and he has work to do to turn around the form with Blue Point on his most recent run over C&D. Yard's other runner, Harry Angel would appear to hold stronger claims.
Handicap winner at Newmarket two starts back but couldn't back that up in a similar contest there last time and seemingly well out of his depth in this company.
Recorded a couple of wins on the AW over the winter and improved a little to win at Newbury last time out, holding on gamely. That form a fair amount below what is required in this contest though and she was all out last time.
Won a Group 3 at the Glorious Goodwood Festival but not got his head back in front since and even a return to his best form wouldn't be enough to land any prize-money in this contest. Opposable with less improvement likely than several of these.
Forecasts
Caravaggio (5/6), Harry Angel (11/4), Blue Point (9/2), Bound For Nowhere (10/1), Intelligence Cross (25/1), Tis Marvellous (33/1), Visionary (50/1), Legendary Lunch (50/1), Yalta (50/1), Straight Right (66/1), Victory Angel (66/1), Mr Scarlet (80/1)
CARAVAGGIO will be very hard to beat having already shown his effectiveness at Group 1 level and he's entitled to come on for an easy win at Naas last time. Godolphin pair Blue Point and Harry Angel are closely matched on form and they looks set to battle out for minor honours.
- Caravaggio
- Blue Point
- Harry Angel
