Won her maiden at Newmarket (Rowley Mile) last year over 7f when with Godolphin but never really progressed for that effort bar taking a runner-up slot in a Wolverhampton handicap off this mark in October. Makes her debut for a new yard having been sold for 52,000 guineas in February she should appreciate this decent ground if retaining her ability.

There were some decent efforts on her CV in 2016 and she did win on the AW when taken to France. Still looks to be finding her form this year though having had just a couple of turf starts.

Most of her winning form has come on the AW but has won and been effective on turf. Can certainly be excused her last turf run at York (hampered late on and eased off after that) and is off the same mark that she was successful off at Wolverhampton in January.

Very disappointing when failing to show much zip and fire in Meydan over the winter. May well be better judged on her two-year-old form last year when winning at Chelmsford and in a Newmarket (Rowley) nursery (Class 2) in October and interesting if she came back to that sort of form.

Dual winner at the end of last year with the fitting of cheekpieces looking to be the catalyst to the improvement to the two wins at the end of last season. The return at Nottingham (strong in the market) was encouraging enough and suggested that she will come on for that run here.

Showed plenty of ability in maidens but didn't really need to improve much to score on her third start at Newcastle in October (scored cosily enough). Ran a very sound race at Goodwood on her return in a race that contained five other previous winners and looks as though she can improve further if she can cope with the drop back in trip.

Dual winner this year on the AW and turf over 6f and has also been placed over 7f taking the runner-up slot both times so there is a very consistent feel to her form. The move back to 7f shouldn't be a problem although she does face some improving types.

Mark has fallen to an interesting level but she does face some improving three-year-olds here and that gives her a problem despite the tempting mark. Recent form looks pretty modest and it would be a surprise if she was good enough here.

Forecasts

Panova (11/10), Angel Of Darkness (9/2), Carolinae (6/1), Roman Holiday (8/1), Island Vision (9/1), Yeah Baby Yeah (14/1), Clear Water (16/1), Childesplay (25/1)

Verdict

A potentially interesting and informative contest with a couple of three-year-olds standing out against their elders in PANOVA and Angel Of Darkness. The former ran second in a strong Goodwood handicap last time and could well get back to winning way here and edge out the latter. Of the older brigade Carolinae can make her presence felt off this mark while Roman Holiday can continue her progress that she has made since the headgear has gone back on. Island Vision is the remaining three-year-old in the field who would also be of interest if she could recapture her form at the end of her juvenile year.
  1. Panova
  2. Angel Of Darkness
  3. Roman Holiday
