Not a bad handicap hurdler at his level but his form wouldn't be as good as one or two of these, and he needs to improve for the switch to the larger obstacles. Pedigree gives some hope of that happening, and he clearly goes well at the track, so not totally discounted, but others preferred.

Useful handicap hurdler that made a satisfactory chasing debut at Warwick last month, had no chance against easy winner Cobra De Mai but not given a hard time once beaten. Jumping needs to improve but this is an easier task.

Easily won a Southwell handicap hurdle in May and went close to winning first time up over fences at Warwick the week after, beaten less than a length in a competitive little event. Conditions ideal again here and although a bit to find on the figures, still holds a solid chance.

Classy handicap hurdler at best but has already had a couple of chase efforts, and although first effort at Catterick was decent, less so on the second one. Hard to know exactly where he is form-wise at present but clearly has ability and can't be discounted in a tricky little event.

Forecasts

Work In Progress (6/4), The Tailgater (9/4), Moabit (11/4), Brian Boranha (8/1)

Verdict

On the figures Moabit would be the one to beat, and although it wasn't the worst debut over fences at Warwick last time, he'll need to brush his jumping up a bit or he'll find a couple of these getting away from him. THE TAILGATER has experience over fences and has run well enough on his two chase starts to think he can turn Moabit over. Work In Progress and Brian Boranha both have a bit to find form wise but neither can be discounted if jumping fluently today.
  1. The Tailgater
  2. Moabit
  3. Brian Boranha
