Moderate on the Flat but made an immediate impact when switched to hurdles, winning the first juvenile race of the season at Hexham earlier in the month. Showed some wayward tendencies under pressure but that experience stands him in good stead here.

Showed some ability on all three starts on the Flat (stays 10f) and a speed test like this should suit. Chances if jumping fluently on debut today.

11/10
Was made long odds-on favourite to beat Costa Percy at Hexham on debut but went down by a length, battled out of it late on. 7lb turnaround at the weights offers hope of turning the form around but may not be one to trust implicitly.

Hot Lick20

14/1
Moderate on the Flat for Andrew Balding and made a disappointing start to his hurdling career when well beaten by Costa Percy at Hexham. From a good yard, and too soon to write off, but needs to settle better to get involved.

Parkwarden20
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-12| J: Callum Bewley(3)| T: C Grant
28/1
Has 15l to find with Costa Percy on their Hexham run, but it was a bit of a step up on anything he'd achieved on the Flat. The way he was staying on late there suggests he might find this too much of a speed test, and others are preferred.
6
Horse silk
100/1
Well beaten all three starts on the Flat and with serious stamina doubts as well, makes little appeal here.

Forecasts

City Dreamer (11/10), Bowban (7/4), Costa Percy (5/1), Hot Lick (14/1), Parkwarden (28/1), Satis House (100/1)

Verdict

The two that fought it out at Hexham may well hold sway again, and while many will fancy the chances of City Dreamer turning the form around with COSTA PERCY at these weights, the latter may well come out on top again. He looked green and ought to have more to offer. Hot Lick needs to settle better, so preference is for Bowban for the bronze.
  1. Costa Percy
  2. City Dreamer
  3. Bowban
