Has shown gradual improvement over hurdles, and scored twice on consecutive days at Ballinrobe last month (2m good). On the rise in the weights, but kept to her own sex, so another strong showing looks likely with similar ground conditions forecast.
Took a Thurles maiden hurdle (2m7f soft) by 4L in early March, but slightly disappointing in a stronger race at Limerick thereafter. Given a couple of months off, but the combination of this much reduced trip and vastly different ground will provide an altogether different test.
Showed some reasonable form in bumpers, including winning at Downpatrick early last month, but well related was always expected to come into her own over hurdles, and was off the mark at the first attempt at Listowel three weeks ago (2m yielding). Should handle the drier ground conditions.
An eleven race maiden, but with just the two attempts at hurdling to date. That said, she got no further than the first on debut at Downpatrick in July 2016, and fared only marginally better at Fairyhouse in October 2016. Tough to see her involved.
Not shown much on the Flat, and rated in the 40's in that sphere. Had a couple of spins in Point-to-Points lately, but unlikely to be good enough here on hurdles debut dropped back to 2m.
Low grade Flat handicapper (15 race maiden), and well beaten on hurdles debut at Clonmel (2m good) last month.
Forecasts
Is She Diesel (11/8), Penny Jane (6/4), Ask Susan (7/2), Amarillo Rose (25/1), Princess Harriet (66/1), Annagassan (66/1)
This contest most likely rests between the dual Ballinrobe winner Is She Diesel, who appears to have been found a decent opportunity despite her rising mark, and the Listowel hurdles debut scorer PENNY JANE. Narrow preference is for the Elliott trained, Rooney owned filly on the strength of her pedigree which suggests she will thrive now racing over hurdles.
