Galileo colt is impeccably bred and should be capable of better than he showed in a 7f maiden here last month, one of three for trainer in this line-up.
Galileo colt, full-brother to Irish Oaks winner Seventh Heaven and half-brother to Group 1 winner Crusade. Well held in 7f maiden here last month, represents powerful yard and should do better.
Gelding by Dutch Art out of Euroceleb, didn't offer a lot on debut at the Curragh earlier this month but could improve on that with Derby-winning jockey on top. One of two for the yard.
Most Improved colt cost €40,000 as a foal, 45,000 gns as a yearling. Yard have been a bit quiet of late in terms of runners and looks best watched here.
Epaulette colt cost 70,000 gns as a foal and subsequently changed hands for 130,000 gns as a yearling. Represents top yard here on debut and is very much one to note in the betting.
Galileo colt, dam was a Group 3 winning sprinter and a half-sister to Group 1 winner The United States and Group 3 winner/stablemate Hydrangea, should improve on last month's debut over 6f at the Curragh. Represents top yard, one of three in this line-up.
Red Jazz colt is a half-brother to a couple of winner and could run well on debut. Sports tongue strap, market may guide alongside stablemate Drapers Guild here.
Teofilo colt whose dam was an unraced granddaughter of multiple US Grade 1 1m1f winner Dispute. Represents leading connections for this debut run, market check seems best course of action to guide expectations.
Forecasts
Theobald (11/10), Somerset Maugham (7/2), Berkeley Square (6/1), Coat Of Arms (8/1), Luzum (8/1), Drapers Guild (16/1), Tamboureen (20/1), Fallen Forest (40/1)
A tough race to get a handle on, there are a number of nicely-bred sorts that have scope to improve having shown nothing too exciting in their debut runs, and also some potentially smart newcomers to take them on. The O'Brien yards are responsible for five of the eight runners and Somerset Maugham looks the pick of the Ballydoyle trio, though he must improve on his debut showing at the Curragh. Newcomer Tamboureen may be the preferred option meanwhile from Joseph O'Brien's pair, though the market will prove the best yardstick in relation to stable companions. Theobald could go well for a yard that knows how to ready one but the nod goes to LUZUM, who has changed hands for good money and represents a top trainer on this debut run. The son of Epaulette may be up to making a winning start.
- Luzum
- Somerset Maugham
