Steadily running into some sort of form this year with his best display coming over C&D last time but on very different going. Starting to get near to a workable mark and a repeat of his last run will see him go close here.
Lightly-raced sort who failed to back-up his first handicap win at Doncaster over 7f last time out which was surprising as that looked a solid piece of form. The return to a longer trip may help and he's not totally written off after that poor run here last time out.
Typically for one from this stable hasn't spent much time in his box and has already been seen frequently this year. Looked to be seen at his best over a mile when winning a few starts back at Pontefract off a mark of 70 but not in the same form since although the race wasn't run to suit last time out at Lingfield.
Has shown some consistent form this year without winning but is heading back towards his last winning mark and has won off much higher in the past. Ran better than his finishing position suggests last time out when ridden too aggressively over a mile at Redcar and should be given another chance here back over 7f.
Showed a better effort last time when reverting to front-running tactics which have suited him in the past with a solid enough third at Musselburgh over 7f. He's now down to his lowest mark for over two years so should be able to make some sort of impression.
Often spoils his chance by racing too freely and that trait is reflected in his long losing run which now dates back to May 2015. Despite his yard being in good fettle at the moment he does need to settle far better before he becomes of interest even off a competitive mark like this.
C&D winner and from a yard that can have one bounce back to form from seemingly nowhere and that would need to happen here. Starting to show signs of a revival but has run his best races from the front and would face competition for the lead here.
Has been hurdling over the winter (still yet to win in that sphere) and despite being eased in the weights back on the Flat still looks below par on the level.
Finished in front of both Ralphy Boy and Ellaal last time out when second at Musselburgh on only her second start of the year and looking to show some promise. May have been a little unlucky in-running and could well build on that outing here off a 1lb higher mark.
Winner at Thirsk last year over 6f off a mark of 51 she's not won since but there are a few runs on her CV that have caught the eye this season. She can race a little freely though and despite being down to an interesting mark she does need to settle a little better to be seen to best advantage and may just be more suited by a bare 7f.
Handicap mark has fallen rapidly and although he has on occasions looked as there was some life and ability left in him he's not totally convinced of late. He was well-held last time out in a first-time tongue tie and is probably best watched here.
Forecasts
Mustaqbal (4/1), African Blessing (4/1), Curzon Line (9/2), Full Of Promise (11/2), So It's War (9/1), Ravenhoe (10/1), Ralphy Boy (12/1), Ellaal (16/1), Someone Exciting (20/1), In Focus (22/1), Know Your Name (40/1)
Another race where pace shouldn’t be a problem with Ralphy Boy, Curzon Line and Ellaal all likely to want to be on the front-end or somewhere near it and that may help some of the hard pullers in the race to settle. Both So It’s War and Someone Exciting are on mark that they can be competitive off if they don’t race so freely. Ravenhoe is rather in-and-out of form but like Mustaqbal must have a chance in this but overall the vote goes to FULL OF PROMISE who ran well last time out and with a bit more good fortune in running.
- Full Of Promise
- Mustaqbal
- Someone Exciting
