Usually likes to race prominently and can prove hard to pass and enjoyed himself on the AW over the winter. Showed that he could reproduce his AW form on turf with a good third at Pontefract on his penultimate start but needs to put a poor hurdles run behind him from last time.

Her last win came well over a year ago now off a 1lb lower mark over this trip at Redcar but she hasn't been disgraced in her subsequent outings. Ran a fair enough race in the circumstances last time over 1m2f at Ayr but may need a more demanding stamina test to be seen at her best.

With the losing run starting to build-up and doubts about his attitude starting to creep in he's one to have reservations about here. Well backed last time out he failed to convince and can only be watched here after that display.

One of two from this stable that runs here who was a C&D winner in September and now resides below that mark. Has run poorly of late though and despite the falling mark would need to show more here to make a mark.

Not the best named of this field as this five-year-old has only been seen on three occasions so far and makes his handicap debut here. His best form came on his debut at Southwell on the Fibresand but he's not matched that in two turf starts since and is best watched here.

Interesting contender for all that he hasn't won for a while (last win 2015) but showed that he had retained enough ability on his maiden run for this yard last time out at Newcastle. Wasn't really seen to best effect there (travelled well; denied a run) and could well be capable of better with that run under his belt and off this mark.

Started life in bumpers before being switched to maidens and a handicap on the Flat both on AW and turf. Made his handicap debut off 65 last time out (mark looks stiff) and could really do with running over further and should stay 1m4f.

Irish raider from a stable that have had success with their forays to GB and he opened his account with a win at Wolverhampton on March. Failed to follow-up that win over slightly shorter at the same track but didn't look suited by the shorter trip (still looked well weighted) and shaped well enough in a race not run to suit last time. Worth a look in the market given his connections.

Forecasts

Lucent Dream (3/1), Eez Eh (9/2), Omotesando (9/2), Beverley Bullet (5/1), Maulesden May (6/1), Restive (6/1), Henpecked (7/1), Royal Holiday (7/1), Celtic Artisan (17/2), Competition (11/1), Polar Forest (14/1), Sir Runs A Lot (25/1)

Verdict

This looks as though it will be run at a decent pace with Celtic Artisan, Royal Holiday and possibly Beverley Bullet all looking to get on with things but with three-quarters of the field in headgear it’s not a race to be getting too heavily involved with. Henpecked was in front of OMOTESANDO last time at Newcastle but the latter lurks on a very interesting mark on his old form and may well be able to reverse the form. Lucent Dream is another one that is of interest and he’ll also enjoy a race that is well run having looked to have plenty of stamina at this sort of trip.
