Winning hurdler who has yet to get off the mark over fences after seven attempts. His last two runs have been particularly disappointing and he looks to have it all to do off top weight.
Experienced chaser whose last run, when a close third of five at Worcester with Saffron Prince well behind, was his best for some time. Competes off the same mark and has each-way claims.
Has a record of running consistently well without getting his head in front. First run for this stable saw him finish third of eight at Exeter in April and he is 1lb lower in this. May well hit the frame again.
Winner of four point-to-points but only one race over regulation fences. First run for this stable saw him finish runner-up in a Kempton handicap hurdle and he can be competitive on this switch back to the bigger obstacles.
Veteran of 60 races, 40 of them over hurdles. Lesser form over the bigger obstacles, but showed he was in good heart when winning a handicap hurdle over this track last time and reverts to fences off a 7lb lower mark. Respected.
Winner of two of his eight races over fences, a strike rate which compares favourably to that of his rivals. Won at Ludlow three starts ago and is only 4lb higher in this. Likely to run his race and is one for the short list.
Has had plenty of experience over fences and arrives in good heart after running really well at Worcester last time when beaten a short head. The handicapper has left him on the same mark, so he should make a bold bid.
Tends to win in her turn and has dropped to a mark 4lb lower than when last successful at Wincanton in November. She has a different trainer now, but recent runs have not been without promise and she is considered.
Won a novices' handicap chase at Plumpton in March and subsequent efforts off a higher mark, including when second at Fontwell last time, have been respectable. He has inched down the weights recently and could be ready to run a big race.
After 18 attempts over fences, he is still without a win. Hard to see how that is going to change now he is nearing the veteran stage and others are readily preferred.
Forecasts
Ladies Dancing (3/1), Show's Over (7/2), Goonjim (6/1), Triggywinkle (7/1), No No Cardinal (8/1), Guanciale (11/1), Golan Dancer (12/1), Saffron Prince (16/1), Court In Session (16/1), Academy General (20/1)
One or two of these have reached the veteran stage and are opposable, so it may be prudent to concentrate on a couple of the younger sorts in SHOW'S OVER and Goonjim. The former is a two-time winner who has had only eight races over fences and may still have improvement in him, while the latter has slipped to a feasible handicap mark. No No Cardinal is another who can be fancied at the weights, while the consistent but frustrating Golan Dancer is likely to be thereabouts again.
