Has probably only run to a fairly similar level on his three starts so far but still did well to beat an odds-on shot over a furlong further at this course last time. Extra furlong here shouldn't be an issue and he looks to be one of the leading contenders here.
Champs Elysees colt who cost 4,000gns as a yearling. Not the worst pedigree but yard isn't associated with first time out winners and looks like he will prefer further in time.
Bahamian Bounty colt who cost £7,000 as a yearling and is related to plenty of winners, including over sprint distances. With a trainer who knows what he's doing with juveniles and isn't dismissed on debut.
Red Jazz colt who cost 17,000gns as a yearling and is a half-brother to one low-level win. Other debutants in this field appeal more.
Ran a little green on debut but managed to put in an impressive performance nonetheless when being beaten only a length into second. The form of that race isn't working out fantastically well yet, but he should be a big player anyway, especially if able to take a step forward.
Requinto gelding who cost £20,000 as a 2yo. Doesn't look appealing on paper and would rate surprise winner on debut.
Was slowly away on debut, and never figured in the race, finishing a well-beaten 13th. Could do better here if starting more alertly, but would still need to show massive improvement to have a say for win purposes.
Forecasts
Royal Household (5/6), May Remain (7/2), Dream of Delphi (6/1), Expediate (8/1), Rainbow Jazz (20/1), Spanish Star (25/1), Champs Inblue (25/1)
Unless one of the newcomers turns out to be something relatively exciting, this should be between Royal Household and MAY REMAIN with the latter narrowly preferred due to his prove ability to run repeatedly solid races. He did well to beat an odds-on shot a this course last time over a furlong shorter, and the extra distance shouldn't be a problem for him. The first-named may well also go well here after a debut performance which was impressive enough, but just can't be contextualized in terms of the form of the race with none of his rivals on that occasion having done anything special since. Of the newcomers perhaps Expediate can give them most to think about.
- May Remain
- Royal Household
