Dual winner last year but progression has stalled recently, and was well beaten when tried over fences at Cartmel recently. Previous hurdles start was fine, and trip and ground ideal, but may find others better handicapped.

Took advantage of the leaders going off too quickly to come good at Worcester (chase) on latest start, and reverts to hurdles on a lower mark, so very well handicapped if that can be repeated. Trip and likely ground fine, and must have a chance of following up.

Destiny's Goldp19

Was starting to look a bit disappointing but stopped the rot with victory at Uttoxeter last time out. 6lb rise for that narrow win looks plenty, and he may need to pull a bit mote out the fire to follow up here.

Petrou3(ex 7)
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-9| J: Bridget Andrews(3)| T: D Skelton| OR:  110| D

Quick reappearance after winning with any amount in hand at Southwell on Tuesday, and that was following up an equally easy success at Stratford the time before. Trip and ground once again ideal and must tale the beating if over Tuesday's exertions.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-7| J: Jamie Hamilton(3)| T: M Walford| OR:  115| D

Bit disappointing when well fancied on the Flat recently and that run needs forgiving, but was in good nick over hurdles previously and easy win at Hexham reads well (second won next time out). Trip and likely ground both fine, and can go close if bouncing back.

Tyrrell's Succes55
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: A W Short(5)| T: A Stronge| OR:  108

Winner at Down Royal (for another yard) in March and didn't fare too badly on first run for new yard at Ayr in April. quicker conditions here may help and if there's a decent pace on, that will help his chances too.

Silver Shufflep,t16
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: Callum Bewley| T: Mrs Dianne Sayer| OR:  94| C
18/1
Veteran that won on this card last year (over 3m) and refound some form after a poor spell when second at Cartmel last time out. Possible that further suits these days but on a fair mark and chances of the places if building on latest effort.
8
Horse silk
Apachee Princet56
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-0| J: Grant Cockburn| T: A C Whillans| OR:  92
33/1
Seems to have completely lost the plot at present, pulling up for the fifth time in six races at Ayr last time, and can't be realistically entertained as a likely winner.

Forecasts

Petrou (4/5), Destiny's Gold (7/1), Tyrrell's Succes (8/1), One Term (8/1), Cape Hideaway (9/1), Derintoher Yank (16/1), Silver Shuffle (18/1), Apachee Prince (33/1)

Verdict

Plenty of these have chances on recent form but they could all be playing for places if PETROU is in the same form as he was at Southwell on Tuesday where he won with any amount in hand, and still looks well in under a penalty here. Cape Hideaway can take the runner-up spot at the expense of One Term.
  1. Petrou
  2. Cape Hideaway
  3. One Term
