Signs of ability at a big price on debut at Worcester and that run just about sets the standard in what looks a weak contest. Yard only had the one bumper winner in five seasons, which tempers enthusiasm, and meets some useful types on paper here.

Some speed in the pedigree but simply pulled too hard on her debut at Hexham m to do herself justice. Will need to have learnt plenty from that and others are preferred.

Well beaten at a huge price on debut at Carlisle last December and can't really be entertained as a likely winner on the back of that.
4

The merest glimmer of ability on her debut at Stratford in May but not enough to make her of interest here. Pedigree suggests she'll need both time, and more of a stamina test.

Only went off a 6-1 chance for her debut at Southwell, so had presumably shown something at home, but was well beaten and will need to have improved plenty in the meantime.

Plenty of speedy types in the family, so this sort of a test should suit. Interesting jockey booking for a yard that don't have many runners in this sort of event, and worth a glance in the market.

Yard have a tremendous record in these events, and have found some good form recently (three winners from last five runners) and this one is a half-sister to the useful Thanks For Tea and Teochew. Has to be taken seriously in a moderate event for the grade.
Yard do well in these events and anything they run has to be respected. Half-sister Schiaparannie also won a bumper in April (and wore a hood, as Fingareeta does tonight) so looks one of the more likely candidates.
Nicely bred and should do okay given time, but didn't show enough on recent debut at Huntingdon to suggest she can shake up the principal players tonight.

Forecasts

Dory (5/4), Ridgeway Pearl (2/1), Fingareeta (5/2), Kaloci (5/1), Ask Alice (10/1), Solstice Twilight (14/1), Lady Samback (25/1), Candy Mix (25/1), Legende Volante (28/1), Kiltormer (40/1)

Verdict

Kaloci just about has the best form of those that have run, but it's not that strong, and the newcomers may well hold sway. With Warren Greatrex in such good form, preference is for DORY, who has some classy relatives and could be good enough. Fingareeta and Ridgeway Pearl both make some appeal on paper too, and Candy Mix is worth a look at a bigger price.
  1. Dory
  2. Fingareeta
  3. Ridgeway Pearl
