As many letters as numbers in recent form, but that masks the fact he's got plenty of ability and is more than capable on his day. Falling quickly in the handicap and has gone well fresh before, but may want slightly slower ground. Must be considered nevertheless.

Hasn't been seen out for over a year after a fall at Cheltenham in April 2016 (was still going well at the time) and was quietly progressive before that. Not discounted here, but on balance, may well need this run.

Connections wasting little time in getting him over fences after just the four hurdles starts, and he's shown plenty of promise on last two efforts to suggest he's in good form. Likely to find the step up in trip a positive and if jumping fluently on debut, has chances.

Had clearly learnt plenty from his chasing debut at Wetherby in December when winning with plenty in hand on reappearance at Kelso last time out. Jumped well in the main and despite a 10lb hike in the weights, a repeat of that surely puts him in the firing line.

Had suffered a couple of jumping mishaps in his previous two starts but he made no mistake here last week, travelling and jumping well and winning with a bit in hand. This is tougher, and has the penalty to carry, but not discounted in current mood.

Forecasts

Scenic Star (2/1), Lovely Job (5/2), Charlie Wingnut (4/1), Hattons Hill (5/1), Hit The Highway (11/2), Buble (7/1), Get Involved (14/1)

Verdict

CHARLIE WINGNUT looked a different horse after a break at Kelso last time out and despite a kick from the handicapper for that win, can go in again. Scenic Star could be called the winner some way from home here last week and if avoiding the odd jumping error, can run take the silver. Buble wouldn't be without hope if getting into a fluent rhythm either and is worthy of consideration. Hattons Hill is very genuine and has some good looking form figures but may find this tougher.
  1. Charlie Wingnut
  2. Scenic Star
  3. Hattons Hill
