Not reached the frame in five starts since winning a Wolverhampton maiden over the extended mile in December. Dropped sharply in the weights, but well beaten last of eight at Haydock last week. Blinkers tried.

A winner and twice a runner up over Wolverhampton's extended mile since late March so clearly in excellent order. Has won over this trip in the past and finished ½L runner up to Vastly in this contest in 2016.

A five time winner on synthetics, but did record a sole success on turf over this trip at Bath in September 2015. Lost his way a little since winning at Chelmsford in February with the handicapper in charge, but better at Kempton latest so can't be ignored.

19 race maiden who has done much of her racing on the AW since October 2016. However, her turf runners up efforts over this trip to Best Tamayuz (Nottingham, May 2016) and Stoneboat Bill (Leicester, September 2016) show she has some ability, but she was a bitter disappointment at Pontefract latest.

A 15 time career winner from 145 starts and a wonderful stalwart for connections. Retains his enthusiasm for the game and not beaten too far when last racing on turf at Wetherby in May (third to Mr Sundowner). Dropped 2lb.

A major in running eye-catcher at Newcastle recently (travelled smoothly), but ultimately dispatched by emphatic winner Archipeligo. That run was a big step forward from his Wetherby reappearance ninth of eleven (Outlaw Torn third), and it's possible Newcastle suits him well, but competitive from a mark of 51 and could easily go one better in this company.

Her sole career success in 26 starts came in a Leicester seller in May 2016. She finished third in the equivalent contest 12 months on (latest), and although handicapping has proved beyond her so far, she drops to a career low mark of 48.

Tailed off on his return to action at Southwell in February (5F), which was a continuation of the form he showed throughout 2016. However, very well treated on his form from way back when (all over sprint distances), but a massive surprise if this trip is the solution to his problems.

Forecasts

Diamond Runner (10/3), The Dukkerer (4/1), Outlaw Torn (9/2), Inflexiball (5/1), Mrs Biggs (5/1), Scent Of Power (6/1), Playtothewhistle (7/1), Palindrome (7/1), Nouvelle Ere (15/2), Little Pippin (14/1), Raashdy (16/1), Touch The Clouds (20/1)

Verdict

Wetherby winner Mrs Biggs will appreciate a return to this trip, and it's possible that both Bling King and Sakhalin Star will frank that form in Division 1 at 5.00pm, so the Declan Carroll trained mare must be high on the shortlist. Inflexiball clearly has some ability, but bombed out badly at Pontefract latest whilst 2016 runner up The Dukkerer is in fine fettle and should be on the premises. However, DIAMOND RUNNER caught the eye at Newcastle recently and whilst he might be a smooth traveller who finds very little type, he's worthy of one more chance from a lowly mark in a race which won't take too much winning.
  1. Diamond Runner
  2. The Dukkerer
  3. Mrs Biggs
