Yard have not had a three-year-old winner since last July. Never nearer when finishing tenth on debut and may need more time.
Probably exceeded expectations at Dundalk last time when coming home ahead of a better fancied stable companion. Messed up the start and is entitled to improve. This looks a stronger race and he may be vulnerable to one of the less exposed runners.
Looks the part on pedigree being out of a dam who acted on soft ground and who won a Listed race and was Group placed. Supported on debut when staying to take third at Cork behind a Balydoyle runner and the second went on to score by 7L next time. Yard continue in good for with two winners and two seconds from their last five runners.
Casamento filly has shown little on both starts. Was the stable second string last time and it looks a similar story here.
Dam won two listed races in England before picking up to Graded races in the US. Unfancied on debut when showing some ability before shuffling back through the pack in the closing stages.
Frankel filly, half-sister to Group 3 winner Commemorative and Shoreditch. Dam was a sister to Group 3 winner Visit and half sister to Group 1 winner Promising Lead. Heavily supported on Curragh debut when seemingly failing to stay the trip. Down to a mile for this and holds a number of Group entries in her calendar.
Invincible Spirit filly who is a half-sister to two Group 1 winners and goes for a promising young trainer. Blew the start on debut and was not unduly punished. This looks a much stronger race.
Teofilo filly out of a dam who was placed in Listed company. Yard have only had two Flat winners in the past four years and therefore it will be a shock if she proved forward enough to collect this on her debut.
£37,000 daughter of Kodiac. Dam's progeny have won from 6f-1m4f and her debut over 6f suggested she was ready for further.
Half-brother Battle Of Jericho goes in the opener. Showed some ability as a juvenile and shaped as though in need of this extra furlong when a close fourth last time (winner scored since). Blinkers are now tried but they need to produce significant improvement. Stable took this last year.
Debut effort behind Asking rates her best performance so far. Last two runs have been over further and pedigree suggests this trip will suit her better.
Had a number of winners behind when chasing home the highly regarded Aneen in a Curragh maiden. The yard have been quiet lately but the market has been a guide to expectations.
Forecasts
Belle Boyd (3/1), Europium (4/1), Petticoat (9/2), Artistic Melody (5/1), Dilmun (7/1), Panstarr (9/1), Old Time Waltz (10/1), Above Us Only Sky (40/1), Kamili (50/1), Lady Magdala (66/1), Little White Owl (66/1), Casuist (66/1)
Belle Boyd and Petticoat are well-bred lightly raced fillies who have shaped well in good quality maidens. Old Time Waltz and Artistic Melody both ran well last time but have contested weaker races than this and possess less scope than their rivals. EUROPIUM was all the rage on her debut when she failed to last the distance in a strongly run race. Dermot Weld's Frankel filly has some choice engagements in the diary and she would be expected to land this if she is that good.
- Europium
- Belle Boyd
- Petticoat
