All five of his wins have been on either good to firm or on the All Weather. Handled good to soft on his only try on it, but that still may be a slight concern. 1lb higher here than then when beaten 1L over 1m½f at Epsom in a stronger contest last time, so based on that he has claims.

Goes on most ground and all his wins have come at around the 1m mark, including over C&D. Remains 1lb higher than his latest win, which was in July last year and recent runs suggest that he will need a further drop in the weights before we see him able to win again.

Sole success was in France on good to soft a couple of years ago and made the frame there in Listed company (1m. good to soft) last season. Conditions ideal then, though may just have a bit too much on his plate from this mark.

Acts well with cut in the ground and his latest win came on good to soft at Redcar (1m) in August from 8lb lower. Can be competitive from this sort of mark, but likely to find a couple too good.

Was enjoying a good spring until the wheels rather came off at Windsor last time (beaten 12L). Had previously won at Beverley (1m½f, good) from 1lb lower, so now back in this grace and with no problems over the ground, he might come good again.

Both wins have come over 1m, the one on turf being on good ground at Redcar in April. Ran really well from this mark to be beaten just a head at Ripon (1m, good to soft) last week and should be right there in the mix again.

Stays 1m2f, though his last win was over 1m at Kempton in September. Appreciates slow conditions on the All Weather, though yet to race on good to soft on turf. Has to prove that he handles that and looks to be plenty high enough in the handicap at present.

Romped home by 16L (1m, good to soft) at Yarmouth last week and it is no surprise to see him back out under a penalty. Has already won from marks of 87 and 89 in the none-too-distant past, so this is possibly within his compass, though in significantly better company it may still demand his best effort.

Both his turf wins have been with some cut in the ground at up to 7f, including here last year. Has only had one try over 1m before now, in Meydan and in better company, so it may have just been the grade that beat. Lurking on what looks a decent mark here and there are few better combinations that his trainer/jockey at this venue.

Another who acts well on good to soft, having scored here over 7f on it and also over 1m at Doncaster. 3lb lower than the latter today on his first start for this yard, so possibilities on that basis, although needs a significant turnabout on recent form.

Same mark today as when third (1m, soft) here on Saturday in a slightly weaker race. May not have been ideally suite by plenty of daylight there, so if ridden slightly differently he could make even more of an impact this time.

Forecasts

Roller (3/1), Intrude (11/2), Abushamah (8/1), Ice Slice (8/1), Calder Prince (9/1), Mountain Rescue (10/1), London Protocol (10/1), Mythical Madness (11/1), Fuwairt (12/1), Eternal (16/1), Instant Attraction (16/1), Zealous (50/1)

Verdict

Another open heat, with Mythical Madness a likely player and Eternal one who may well return to form. Abushamah did that on Saturday and looks booked for another good run, while Roller is very much a danger to the selection CALDER PRINCE. Tom Dascombe and Richard Kingscote rarely leave here without a winner and this four-year-old acts on the ground, is unexposed over 1m and has dropped to a dangerous-looking mark.
  1. Calder Prince
