Well held over an extended 2m1f in a handicap chase on good-to-firm ground here last month. Has run well on AW at Kempton since but a risky proposition over fences at present.

Finished third over 2m7f at Worcester (good) a month ago. Races off the same mark today and interesting having had just the three starts in handicap company. Wears cheekpieces for the first time here.

Victorious on two of his last three starts including in a three runner handicap chase off a 1lb lower mark over an extended 2m1f here on good ground in April. Well beaten next time but came 7L clear of his rivals to score here over hurdles last time and an interesting runner today.

Chase and hurdle winner but well beaten in point-to-point races the last couple of seasons. Better effort on debut for this yard when not beaten far into fourth at Taunton (good-to-firm) in April but others make more appeal in this.

Finished third off this mark in a handicap hurdle over an extended 2m5f at Exeter (good) in April. Well beaten last of four at Huntingdon subsequently and probably best watched.

Failed to complete the last twice including when falling in first time tongue tie and cheekpieces (both retained) at Ffos Las (good) over 2m5f last time out. Running a decent race on that occasion and interesting here.

26 race maiden and pulled up over an extended 3m1f here last time out. Others make more appeal in this contest.

Pulled up on each of his last four starts including twice in 2017. Handicap mark is falling as a result but looks likely to struggle again today.

Age: 9|  Weight: 10-0| J: Jamie Bargary(3)| T: M Sheppard| OR:  73| CD

Well beaten since finishing 14L second over an extended 2m1f here on good ground over a year ago. Beaten 78L at Huntingdon last time and blinkers replace the usual cheekpieces for this.

Forecasts

Brown Bear (5/2), Between The Waters (3/1), Bouggietopieces (13/2), Lord Aldervale (8/1), Halling's Wish (8/1), Monderon (10/1), Kitegen (12/1), Sylvan Legend (16/1), Spanish Optimist (22/1)

Verdict

BROWN BEAR ran well to win a handicap hurdle here last month and he has also won over fences at this track in 2017. The selection appreciated this trip last time out and can get the better of Between The Waters who wears cheekpieces for the first time in this with Kitegen taken to put a fall last time out behind him by claiming third.
  1. Brown Bear
  2. Between The Waters
  3. Kitegen
