Ran well to finish third of ten over an extended 2m4f at Newcastle (soft) in December. Well beaten at Kempton (good-to-soft) in February on her only subsequent start and worth a check in the market here.

Winner of a bumper at Roscommon (good) in July 2015 for previous year. Well held in a handicap at Punchestown (good-to-yielding) over 2m4f in October 2016 and wears cheekpieces for the first time on her debut for this stable.

Sole success so far came in a Angers bumper in March 2015. Disappointed since but shaped better than in previous starts for this yard when finishing 3¾L second at Huntingdon (good) over 2m last time out.

Sixties Idol18
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-4| J: M Goldstein| T: Miss S West| OR:  100
11/1
Maiden after 17 starts including six over hurdles. Beaten 28L over C&D when making her handicap debut on good ground last month and others make more appeal today.

Forecasts

Poetic Lady (6/4), Lee Side Lady (11/4), Calling Des Blins (7/2), Ginger Fizz (15/2), Sixties Idol (11/1)

Verdict

CALLING DES BLINS had a couple of useful horses behind her when making her debut in a French bumper a couple of years ago and she can back up a solid handicap debut at Huntingdon last time out by claiming this five runner mares event. Of her rivals here Poetic Lady is one of two runners for Neil Mulholland and she can take third at the expense of Ginger Fizz.
  1. Calling Des Blins
  2. Poetic Lady
  3. Ginger Fizz
