Has had jumping issues and presumably health ones, too, given his nine-month lay-off before his return two starts ago. Shaped better against a well-handicapped rival at Huntingdon last time and has claims despite top weight.
Only two wins over hurdles came in 2015, but was placed twice in the autumn before being given a break and returning with a couple of disappointing displays. Needs some respite from the handicapper.
Bred to be a top-class jumps performer, but has failed to live up to his pedigree. Two bumper outings and three starts over hurdles have produced little, but he dips his toe in the water in handicap company for the first time and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks for him with blinkers fitted for the first time.
Moderate AW performer and third twice in seven starts over hurdles. Beaten a long way at this track last time and is hard to fancy.
Winning point-to-pointer who has failed to to hit the frame in four hurdles starts. Runs in a handicap for the first time and jockey booking catches the eye. Worth a check in the betting.
Has failed to win a race in 26 starts under Rules, including 20 over hurdles. Showed little on his first start for this stable over C&D earlier this month and is best watched..
Winning chaser who has failed to deliver that level of form over hurdles. His last three runs have been woeful, but his handicap marks over fences and hurdles have been coming down for some time now and he cannot be written off completely.
Winning hurdler/chaser who has been around for some time, but has shaped respectably in two starts since returning from a break. Won at this track in May, last year, and has claims in an ordinary contest.
A winner on the Flat for Sir Mark Prescott, he has failed to deliver so far over hurdles and, as a result, has a lowly handicap mark. Top trainer is persevering with him, so he is worth a check in the market.

Forecasts
Vendredi Trois (7/2), Padawan (9/2), Light Breaks (6/1), Baby Sherlock (13/2), Princesse Fleur (15/2), Brave Helios (8/1), Mister Dick (8/1), Star Trouper (10/1), Westerly Breeze (16/1), Renewing (20/1)
An open-looking handicap hurdle in which top weight Vendredi Trois will be looking to make it third-time-lucky after his lay-off. He is respected given his jockey booking, while Baby Sherlock's breeding suggests he should be running at Cheltenham rather than here. He could be well handicapped, but the same can be said of PADAWAN, a winning pointer who makes his handicap debut with a top jockey booked. He could represent value and is worth keeping an eye on in the market, along with bottom weight Light Breaks and Princesse Fleur.
- Padawan
- Vendredi Trois
- Princesse Fleur
