Purchased from Godolphin for 17,000 gns. Having first run for new connections when clipping heels and coming down approaching the final furlong. She was retreating at the time but connections will have been encouraged by her performance to that point. Should give a good account if unperturbed by that incident.
Made all to produce a career best to score over C&D in February. Not disgraced in better races since and this looks a lot easier. Looks set for an easy lead and is one for the shortlist.
Record over C&D is two wins and two places. Latest effort was poor and yet to win from a mark this high.
Wolverhampton winner who has finished last on his next two starts on turf. Raced too freely on those occasions and it seems likely his handicap mark overestimates the form of his victory.
Came to hand in the summer after three starts and he showed he was approaching his peak at Yarmouth last time. Cheekpieces had the desired effect along with a drop in the weights. Races off the same terms for a yard who are 3-6 this month and a rider who had his first winner on Friday.
Has been running over a mile recently under patient handling. Winning form has been over this trip when ridden closer to the pace so interesting here with rider 3-9 for the yard. Trainer landed this in 2014.
Winner off this mark at Southwell in February but has been inconsistent since and stable are without a winner this month. Has something to prove in this grade on a surface as quick as this.
Well beaten favourite at Yarmouth in a weaker race than this. Switches to the AW and races off a mark 4lb higher than when caught close home at Wolverhampton in September. Hard to argue she is well handicapped on that form.
Won four on the bounce over 7f-1m last summer. Not badly handicapped on those efforts but comprehensively beaten on his reappearance. Will need to have improved considerably since and he may need more time before reaching his peak.
Won twice on turf and is fairly well treated in comparison but is still a maiden on the AW and looks vulnerable on these terms.
Forecasts
North Creek (2/1), Twin Point (7/2), Imperial State (11/2), Wings Of Esteem (8/1), Acrux (10/1), Until Midnight (14/1), Porta Rosa (20/1), Among Angels (20/1), Multitask (20/1), Molten Lava (40/1)
Imperial State shaped well in cheekpieces last time and is feared with his yard in form. NORTH CREEK represents a stable that have enjoyed success at this fixture in the past and he switches back to his optimum trip tonight. His rider is 3-9 for the yard and he should get a good lead from Twin Point. The latter will need to produce a career best to land this and NORTH CREEK gets the vote as a result.
- North Creek
- Twin Point
- Imperial State
