Still a maiden after 28 runs on the Flat and never managed to place on seven turf starts. Looks out of her depth in this company and has to concede weight all-round.

Sir Percy colt, half-brother to Listed winner Suzi's Connoisseur over sprint trips. Trainer and jockey have a fine record around here (17.95%) and do well with their debutantes so worth monitoring in the market.

Medaglia d'Oro gelding, dam half-sister to Grade 1 winner The Cliff's Edge and this trip looks suitable based on breeding. Trainer has had seven winners from his last 15 runners (46.67% strike-rate) so clearly one to note on debut.

Didn't show a lot on debut but travelled better last time at Thirsk, fading late on. May come on for that run but will probably do better in handicaps.

Not disgraced on either start to date but bare level of the form needs improving upon and first-time cheekpieces applied in an attempt to bring out a little improvement. Will probably have better opportunities when handicapping.

Sprint At Last gelding, cost €25,000 as a yearling and bought for 60,000 gns as a Breeze Up purchase by this yard last year. Dam a half-sister to US Grade 3 winning middle-distance performer Sporting Art, out of a half-sister to a Grade 1 winner. Showed very little on debut at Nottingham last year but entitled to do better now and this trip looks more up his street. Not discounted for a yard who do well with horses returning from a break.

Frankel colt, who improved a little last time to finish second of eight at Lingfield. May have preferred the cut in the ground that day, compared to his previous effort on faster ground, and just about sets the standard on form for the rest of these to aim at but vulnerable to anything a bit above average.

Born To Sea gelding, cost €50,000 as a yearling. Closely-related to French 1m-1m1½f winner Max's Spirit and half-brother to 1m4f-1m6f winner Crakehall Lad. Showed some ability on debut at Wetherby last month but will need to take a big step forward to land any sort of blow in this contest.

Manduro colt, cost €140,000 as a yearling and dam was a full-sister to Australian Group 2 winner Permit. Bred for middle distances and yard do well with these types but the application of a hood for debut is a little off-putting and he may be best watched on this occasion.

Fastnet Rock filly, dam was a winner and closely related to Group 2 winners Fairy Queen and Arc fourth Acropolis. Bred for this sort of test but didn't show a whole lot on debut earlier in the month and may be in need of a little more time.

Forecasts

Uae King (6/5), Festival Of Ages (11/4), Joshua Reynolds (4/1), Uber Cool (11/1), War Brigade (20/1), Inspector (25/1), Assiduous (33/1), Flowers Will Bloom (33/1), Moans Cross (50/1), Tamarin (200/1)

Verdict

Charlie Appleby can't do a whole lot wrong at the moment and it may be worth siding with FESTIVAL OF AGES on debut. Uae King's experience will hold him in good stead and he looks capable of exploiting any holes in his less experienced rivals while Moans Cross shouldn't be completely dismissed now upped in trip. War Brigade is another who is bred for this sort of test and there's a good chance he could be useful.
  1. Festival Of Ages
  2. Uae King
  3. Moans Cross
