Will have learned a fair bit from the experience at Ripon on his recent debut, when he was behind a runaway winner, but otherwise not disgraced. Didn't appear to be troubled by the ground there, so hopefully he can act on the forecast soft conditions here too and we should see some improvement.

Went well on debut at Thirsk (5f, good to firm) last month, when beaten just 1L, but disappointed when sent off favourite at Leicester (5f, soft) last time and being beaten over 4L. Not one to write off from these top connections, but the forecast ground has to be a bit of a concern.

Back out quickly after making his debut at Carlisle last week and finishing an 8L sixth of seven (5f, soft) at 18-1. Will need to improve pretty swiftly to take a hand at the business end today.

Very unlucky not to have won on his debut at Wetherby last week (5½f, soft) when he was squeezed for room when trying to challenge. At 16-1, that was way beyond market expectations. A repeat or better would make him very tough to beat.

Understandably somewhat green on debut here over C&D (good) at the beginning of the month when an 8L fifth of six. Should improve for that, but will need to find plenty to be winning this time.

Forecasts

Tough Remedy (8/13), Danehill Desert (4/1), Camacho Chief (11/2), Stopwatch (12/1), Ty Rock Brandy (40/1)

Verdict

TOUGH REMEDY was done no favours by the winner at Wetherby last week and with a clear run he may well have got up. A repeat or better would make him very tough to beat today. Danehill Desert was a shade disappointing last time, but we can't rule one from his yard out just like that and he may do better. The soft ground remains a concern, however. Camacho Chief looks the other one with perhaps the most potential improvement in him this time around.
  1. Tough Remedy
  2. Camacho Chief
  3. Danehill Desert
