Winner at Wolverhampton last week (6f, standard) and shoulders a 6lb penalty as a result. That is far from ideal but he seems to be progressive and hasn't run a genuinely bad race since switching to this trainer.
Hasn't been the same force since switching to this yard despite having been tried over a variety of trips. Back down to his last winning mark now but still difficult to fancy.
Hasn't been putting in the worst performances in his recent races, with this trip likely to be fine for him. He wears a first-time hood, and it is notable that his sole career came when wearing blinkers for the first time in May last year.
Has run some fair races in handicaps recently, and is now down to a workable handicap mark at a course he run well at in the past. Not one to dismiss out of hand.
Won a relatively weak looking Lingfield maiden in which he didn't show any marked improvement, though he is raised only 1lb as a result of that. Seems to be better over 6f and certainly could have a say here.
Hasn't shown much in three maidens and has something to prove on handicap debut even off a relatively low opening mark.
Hasn't been able to have a serious say in any of his races since switching to handicaps, having won just a minor seller at two. Interesting to see him dropped to this trip from 7f after connections persevering over the longer distance for so long.

It's very possible that DEEDS NOT WORDS could defy his penalty and secure a hat-trick for David Probert and Michael Wigham here. Having won at Wolverhampton last week he looks to be a very progressive type, which is slightly surprising given his age and how much racing he has had, but can at least partially be explained by a recent change of trainer. This trip holds no issues for him and the ground is fine, so he should be able to run another very big race. Something Lucky ran well at Wolverhampton last time and could go close off the same mark, while Frank Cool is another last time out winner, and has only gone up 1lb as a result (though the race he won was a weak-looking maiden).
