Carries 6lb extra for last week's win at Hamilton, so obviously more to contend with on these terms. Never won over 7f but has been placed, so the trip not really an issue; so another bold bid expected by this in-form gelding.
Form took a dip after switching yards and racing in headgear was dispensed with after just one (winning) run. Now has something to prove after a couple of modest efforts this season and others preferred.
Lightly raced 5-y-o that went close off current mark at Wetherby last time out; which suggests his turn may be close to hand. One to bear in mind if supported. Ground conditions to his liking an added bonus.
Yard in good form an won this race last year; form of his latest start took a knock here last week, so does need to be at his best from 2lb higher than last winning mark. But better off at the weights with Inexes on their form from last season, so no surprise to see him rise to the challenge.
Encouragement to be taken from last couple of starts and notable that he has won over C&D three times already (also won over 1m and numerous placed efforts at Ayr, so safe to say he saves his best for this course). Merits plenty of interest but does need to post a personal best.
Out of form and looks the stable's second string on recent evidence. Worth bearing in mind he is 6lb lower than his last winning mark but uncertain as to whether that would be a tempting enough enough pointer to follow a market move.
Won over C&D from current mark last July but was found out when upped in the weights and grade. Bit to prove after a moderate effort on seasonal debut last month and possible that he may need at least another outing to fully clear the tubes.
Just a maiden win to his name but started 2017 in decent form on the AW at Newcastle. Faded afterwards and this significant drop in trip looks to be a fact finding mission by his new yard.
Already won five times at his trainer's former local track, so feared as a horse for the course. Linda Perratt's knowledge of Ayr will be a vital tool for instructions and is an added consideration that would make a market move appealing. However, is upped in grade and carries 6lb extra for winning at Hamilton (Perratt's new local), so still faces a tough assignment.
Near a winning mark after a series of defeats since the turn of the year. Recent efforts have been more competitive but still a suspicion lurking that the handicapper still has him in his sights.
Got up in the shadow of the post to win over C&D last week; responding well for a 7lb claimer. New lad in the plate helps off-set the 6lb penalty but more required in this stiffer looking company.

A tough one to call but VALLARTA, who represents an in-form yard that won this race last year, has plenty going for him and, with conditions to suit, he just edges the nomination ahead of course specialist Jay Kay, who always seems to up the ante when he races at Ayr. Dutch Artist will like the predicted ground conditions and may have turned the corner, while Inexes and Dark Crystal, are both respected but have 6lb penalties to cope with and need to be of best form to follow up.
